Bottles
Hello ladies,
Hope everyone is doing well
I need help and advice. I am almost 34 weeks now and need to decide on what bottles to use for my baby girl. I am going to try and breast feed for the first 2 months and would like a bottle that i can use in conjuction with breast feeding...Any suggestions?

Re: Bottles
Hi. I have 9 week old . I lasted a month breastfeeding. I also pumped and formula fed as well. I used (and am still using) the Playtex drop-ins. My boys never had any issues. There is also a breastmilk storage kit that can be used (if you pump).
I didn't use but I know Medela also makes bottles that are used in conjunction with breastfeeding.
GL!

Re: Bottles
dont worry about it. its hard to choose a bottle before the baby is here. chances are that you will have to buy a few before you find one that works best. i started with the medela breast milk bottles, then switched to playtex drop in, then finally settled with dr. browns. i suggest buying a sample set of a few different kinds and then getting more when you figure out which are best. btw i BF, FF and pumped. we switched a lot because DD had gas issues when she was a newborn.

Re: Bottles
Best advice I can give you in to buy about 2 or 3 different brands of bottles. The babies dont take to all bottles. I BF DS but fed him formula as well. I bought plated drop ins, advent and Dr. Browns. DS liked the Dr. Brown bottles. This time I'm going to try the Tommy tippie bottle. I used 4oz bottles at first. You don't have to buy a ton. Maybe just 3 Bottles, especially if your going to BF. Then when you know what bottle you like you can buy more.
I also liked born free bottles.

Re: Bottles
I also plan on breastfeeding and I registered for the tommee tippee bottles. I'll only open one package and if they don't work for DS I'll just return and try something else.

Re: Bottles
I'm a Playtex Drop-In fan... worked well with DS and he was BF for 8 weeks with formula supplementation at 1 night feed. No issues.
eta I went through Dr. Brown's, Born Free, Avent and Tippee Tommee before we tried Drop Ins... He hated them all.

Re: Bottles
I wouldn't get only one type of bottle. I wanted to use Avent with DS and he would not take them. I tried Tommee Tippee, Born Free, Playtex drop ins, Playtex ventaire, evenflo, etc. I had standard and wide neck. Just about every bottle they had in the store. Bought Dr. Brown's as a last resort. Those were the only ones that he would drink out of. All the other bottles he would just let them sit in in mouth and play with the nipple. Even now at 4 months if I try another bottle with him he will no drink it at all, just plays with it in his mouth.
He was in the NICU for a while, I tried BF and he did ok with it, so that was not the issue with the bottles. And it was not a silicone/latex nipple issue either, cause for some of the bottles I tried both. I have an unused bottle/nipple collection that is crazy.

I experienced the same thing. I went through several bottles and nipples before I finally found a bottle that ds would take!
