Cute, but Jackson is VERY popular right now. Your son might be one of 2-3 other Jacksons in his class. I know of 3 Jacksons born within this year!!!!

I agree. I think it's the repetition of the K sound.

Okay thanks for the input. Jackson is def the name we are going with. Kevin is my late father. Any names similar to Kevin that would sound good with Jackson? His middle name was Jay...does Jackson Jay sound okay and is that still honoring my dad? His last name was Johnson, what about Jackson Johnson...too much of a mouthful right?

I like Jackson Kevin better than Jay or Johnson.
Based on the sentimentality I'd stick with it.

You should've said this! I think the name being meaningful to you and your family trumps anything else.
I'd definitely go with Kevin, and I'm sure your son will be honored to be named after his late grandfather

I'm all for a middle name with meaning and since it's in honor of your late father, I would stick with Kevin as the middle name.
We are using my late father's name as my baby's middle name too. I'm trying to find a first name that flows with it, but in the end I will choose the name we like best even if it doesn't flow really - I mean middle names aren't really USED these days, KWIM?
