Spinoff to last ultrasound Q...
If you do not get an ultrasound after 20 weeks, how does the doctor figure out if you are breech or not?

I wondered the same thing when I was pregnant with DS and found out I didn't get a growth sono.
They can tell by using the doppler and feeling your belly - it is very impressive.

I was wondering this too!
My 20 week sono was my last as well  I was disappointed but DH cheered me up by saying the next time we see the baby, it will be HERE!

Forgive my ignorance, but Doppler = what they use to check the heartbeat?

Doppler checks the heartbeat.
My OB would feel my belly and press down a little. He knew my first guy was breech the whole time. My second was breech until she flipped at 36 weeks!
Baby #3 is breech again now and I am 33 weeks already! I can tell because I can feel the head under my rib cage. It's perfectly round like a softball!

doctors are really knowledgeable when it comes to touch and feel...my doctor w DD barely put his hands on my belly and said okay all looks good! head down, perfect position. i was literally in awe  ...it must be a gift
