Cayman, Aruba or Puerto Rico w/18 month old?
We have not flown with DS yet, but planning a family vaca for May.
For those that have been to these places with young kids, what are the pro's and con's of each.
Thank you.

We just went to Puerto Rico with DD when she was about 6 months.
We chose it because you do not need a passport, and the flight is really quick and easy.

I would just say- as the mom of an 18 month old- whichever is the SHORTEST flight. Period.

One good thing about Aruba is that there is always a nice breeze so it doesn't get ridiculously hot. For that reason, I'd go to Aruba. I think the flight is around 4 hours.....not fun, but do-able.

Been to Aruba twice with DS. Once when he was 9 months and then last year when he was 21 months
Easier at 21 months since he was walking and I didn't have to worry about him crawling all over we have a TimeSHare at the Marriot Aruba is great! Plane ride really isn't too bad, safe island and once you get there you really don't need a car. Everything is within walking distance. WE sat on the beach all day We're going again in Feb. Mason is going to be almost 3 and Brayden will be 7 months Can't wait!

My vote is for Aruba as well! I love it there! The place is great for couples or for families!

I have been to Aruba before we had DS and loved it!! The only thing that is getting me is the flight. I guess it is what it is and it can be a nightmare or a total no problem, but we wont know till we do it

Re: Cayman, Aruba or Puerto Rico w/18 month old?
been to Aruba 3 times with toddlers...
Definitely recommend it...
VERY family friendly...if you stay in the high rise section MANY MANY MANY restaurants are within walking distance - so no car rental is needed...therefore no need to bring carseats (our cab driver we use every year had two carseats for us)
My parents have a timeshare at Marriott Surf Club - which is awesome for families (huge beach with big tiki huts for shade, lazy river, huge pool with slide...

Re: Cayman, Aruba or Puerto Rico w/18 month old?
we went to PR for 5 days when DD was walking at 11 months... and I wouldnt recommend it - yeah flight is short but down they dont have huge reosrts with walking grounds like they do on other islands. so i would go with aruba.

We would be staying at the Westin which is great because from what I remember all the Restaurants and shops are right down the block
