Induction tomorrow!?!
I just got a call from my perinatologist office. They spoke with my OB and scheduled me for an induction tomorrow at 8! I'm totally caught off guard! I was expecting the call next week! So, I think I heard something about Cervadil. But other than that can someone please talk me thru this!

Re: Induction tomorrow!?!
I am not sure-- I believe you start with the cervadil to soften your cervix, then move on to pitocin to help dilate.
Good luck!!!

Re: Induction tomorrow!?!
When I was induced, they started me on cervadil, which is like a supository inserted in the lady part. Then you wait- 12 hours. They will monitor you through the night. If you are progressing, I believe you will be moved on to pitocin. If not, you can get another cervadil ( or cytotech, which is what I moved on to). That is all I can offer because I never progressed and ended up with a c-section. Good luck!!!

Re: Induction tomorrow!?!
I was allowed to eat at midnight. I went in at 7pm, started Cervadil at 9pm. Was able to have a little something at midnight and that was it. They gave me an ambien to sleep. Then they started me on Pitocin in the morning.
Good luck!!

It can take 12 hrs, for me it worked quickly. They had to take it out 3 hours later. It definitely brought on labor (I was 10 days late). For me they didn't let me eat after it went in, just ice chips. Good luck!

Re: Induction tomorrow!?!
You will not be able to eat once you get to the hospital. I only had the pitocin. Because my water broke oon it's own and I just wasn't dilated. You will do great!!!! And if you are uncomfortable do not be afraid of the drugs. I would not have made it through without them. The nurses will walk you through everything
Keep us updated!!!!!

Re: Induction tomorrow!?!
Im 38 weeks today! I thought I would be induced next week but I think they're inducing me early bc of my high blood pressure, and the baby is not really gaining much weight.
It's slowly sinking in. Ive been running around doing last min laundry and sterilizing and I'm gonna take a nap now.
Thank you all for your support!

Re: Induction tomorrow!?!
Easy peasy!!
Cervadil to start... unfortunately no walking around for that - it has to stay up at the cervix. Once you show progress and some sort of labor, they can either: a. see what happens on your own (like mine did), or b. move straight to pitocin. Either way, you can get up and start moving to help get through contractions and whatnot.
My induction was a walk in the park... and I had no previous effacement and minimal (1cm for 5+ wks) dilation.
GOOD LUCK! STAY POSITIVE! And remember, no matter what happens, no matter how your LO enters the world, it's all worth it!!
