thanks for nothing, insurance!!!!
called our insurance company today (Empire Plan- NYSHIP) & they don't cover ANY part of a breast pump! 
thank God my sister is letting me use her Medela In Style from a few years ago (I'm getting new accesories for it!  )
I thought it'd be nice to have a brand new pump for myself but I'm not paying for that! the accesories I need r like $30 so that will do! LOL

Insurance companies cover breast pumps? I never knew that and never heard of any of my friends getting coverage for it... They all registered for theirs...
Its good to know Im gonna call mine and find out, but I highly doubt mine will cover that... Though that would be AWESOME! lol

Sadly I don't think many do anymore, unless it is medical necessity (baby in NICU)

I have Empire as well and was denied coverage for my breast pump. I bought a $35 manual pump in the meanwhile and will re-submit under DH insurance once my Empire runs out..which is pretty soon.

yes some cover them at all different percentages...some right off the bat & some only under certain circumstances (i.e.- twins, baby in NICU, etc)
There are tons of threads on here with tons of info but I think it comes down to each individual's insurance/insurance plan. Def worth calling to check out though!

I have Aetna they don't cover breat pumps either! The insurance companies are cheap!

I had a preemie and even with a doctor's note that it was medically necessary, they wouldn't cover it.

I had two babies in the nicu and it still was not covered at all through empire nyship
