Daycare
When did/is everyone looking at day cares? I'm due end of April and plan to take 3 months off so will be returning to work begining of August. I've just started looking but am curious what everyone else is doing.

You should definitely look now. A lot of places have waiting lists for infants. I'm fortunate to have a daycare in the building where I work so I don't have to worry about a waitlist. But I was warned by other moms to start looking early. Good luck!

For oldest DS, I started looking when I was 3mos pregnant because I knew the center I wanted had a long waiting list.
I called them when I delivered and I still didn't get the call that he was "in" until 2-3 weeks before I was scheduled to return to work, which was when he was 3 months old.

I posted about this last week. I'm due in June, and people said that I should start looking NOW! I was shocked too. A lot of the places that I called have waiting lists already. I have seen three places already, and have three more appointments scheduled. So stressful!

I work in a preschool and you need to look now. There is only a certain number of cribs per room, plus babies cant share cribs, even if they go every other day, against the law. Last year my place had a waiting list.

oh god, i haven't started this yet either. Thank you for the reminder (and the kick in the butt!) I'm going to start making calls tomorrow and setting up appointments.

I started looking at 4/5 months, we found a place we like we just have to go back and reserve her spot. She'll be starting in August.
