Spinoff to Revealing Baby Names....
Since everyone I mention our boy name to seems to cringe...
We love the name Benjamin Joseph. We like how they go together and like how they sound with our last name.
We love the nickname Ben, and my Dad, who passed away in October, was named Joseph.
Yet everyone we mention it to cringes and makes comments about the baby's initials being "BJ." We will never call the baby BJ, but everyone still thinks it would be an issue.
So...anonymous poll....do you like the name Benjamin Joseph?

Yes, I love that name and we are considering Benjamin as a first name as well. I don't see an issue with initials BJ - that's silly to even think about!!!

My inital thought was "oh no-BJ for his initials"
Then I thought that the middle name is not commonly used so it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Well, I told DH that all B names were out for us because I didn't want the baby's initials to be B.S. I know some people could care less but it was important to me.
Our Sil wanted to name her baby boy Gabriel Alexander S. We all vetoed it, including her husband because the initials would be G.A.S. Sooo she is still undecided but still loves the name.
Ultimately, it's you and DH's choice

My husband's name is William/Bill so his initials are BC (that's what he writes on things at work) and so the baby would have the same initials of him in a way.

DH is B.S., and he is adamant about making sure that our child's initials don't spell anything embarrassing!
I like the name Benjamin Joseph though.
DH and I together make B&J, actually.

I like it! IMO I've never sat and thought about what my first name and middle name initials were together...I've only thought of initials really as first, middle, last name, or obviously First and Last.

I like the name! We are kinda in the same situation, we are considering the name Brozo (Bra-zo) Joseph. Aside from everyone cringing @ Brozo, I was concerned about the initials but got over it pretty quickly.
I say go for it!

Funny, when I saw the name the thought of his initials being "BJ" didnt even cross my mind until I read the post. Personally, I love the name. You stick to what you and DH love, screw what everyone else thinks lol

Love, love, love it! Such a great name, and they both go together well. I never put too much credit into initials. How often do we use all 3, except maybe in monogramming?

I like it and the initial woldn't have crossed my mind until you mentioned it.
My parents' friends have a son whose name is Robert Joseph and he was nicknamed BJ as a kid. None of us thought about what that 'meant', we were kids!

I had a neighbor BJ as well and nobdoy thought anything of it or made fun of him.
My friend's son is named Benjamin James and he either goes by Ben or Benjamin - nobody has called him BJ or made fun of his initials (and he's in high school now where it's known what a BJ is).
