hoping to EBF
I did with #1, but now I'm having twins so we'll see how that goes!
You're going to have to fill me in on some tricks... you'll be there before me and I'm on the same track as you.
the plan was to bf my twins, but one is tongue tied and the other in not an efficient nurser, so now i'm a pumper who bf's to calm them or to be topped off

Re: Breastfeeding vs. Bottle feeding?
Definitely EBF.
I did it with the first and it saved me lotsa $$ and from having to get up countless times in the middle of the night just to get the bottle ready, etc.!
I can't imagine it any other way! :)

Re: Breastfeeding vs. Bottle feeding?
all i would say is be open minded. my "plan" was to EBF but i ended up with a preemie and terrible milk supply so i both bottle feed and BF.

Re: Breastfeeding vs. Bottle feeding?
My plan is to BF and also pump so DH can help with feedings and also for when I go back to work and LO is in daycare. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep it up but I'm hoping it works out and I can BF/pump for awhile. We'll see!

Re: Breastfeeding vs. Bottle feeding?
I plan on bottles. If I bf in hospital, I will. For numerous reasons I can't bf after though.

Re: Breastfeeding vs. Bottle feeding?
Jus wanted to give my updated experience since I delivered DS. I tried BF and it was not working DS would not latch even with help from the LC. He was crying all the time in the hospital and would not lie in the bassinet. I gave him a bottle and it was like a different baby.
All I can say is be flexible. You just never know how it will work out

did you pump and bottle feed him your breastmilk? or is he being formula fed?
I wonder how that works if in the hospital LO won't BF...if you can try pumping for them or not...

Re: Breastfeeding vs. Bottle feeding?
With DS I tried to breastfeed and it did not go well. I had an extremely fast flow and he would vomit up everything that went down. So I pumped for 3 months (which was awful and exhausting) With this child I will try to breast feed again, but if it doesn't go well, then I am not so sure I will pump. So my plan is Whatever works!

Yes you can. DS latched the first day and then wouldn't latch the next day and I was determined to EBF. I got a pump from the hospital and started pumping colostrum, then fed him that in a bottle. I then persisted with trying to nurse him and after much screaming was able to get him to nurse properly a few days later. I continued EBF him for a year.

Re: Breastfeeding vs. Bottle feeding?
EBF DS for 15 months and plan on doing the same for #2 as well.. With ds #1 we had a rough first weeks but then we synched and loved it. oohh now i'm reminising in my mind and can't wait to go through that again. Yes even with no sleep and lectures from my family that no nothing about it.. This time I think i'll find a lll meeting and bring my mother and sister to educate them so they'll get off my back.

No desire to breastfeed whatsoever.
No pumping either. Will do bottle.

I am due in a few weeks and still haven't decided. I know even if I do BF I will pump and formula feed cause I will be going back to work after 8 weeks and my schedule will not allow for regular pumping.
I'd say I relate mostly to this post...
i want to BF as much as possible, but definitely have to pump so LO gets used to a bottle, and start formula within 2 months because I go back to work after 13 weeks and will not be able to pump at work
Isn't it against the law for the workplace to not have a place designated for breastfeeding?
