Is 30 wk sono a growth sono?

I'm going for my 30 week sono today and I'm very excited!!!

Is this the first one where they see how big the baby is measuring and use it to make predictions for birth size???

I'm VERY curious to know this lol, because DH's family has all big baby's...and my sidewas all reasonable sizes (8lbs or less - except for my big 10 lb dad lol)

at 20something weeks they told me they could rule out a 10lb baby at that point, but that a 9lb+ baby was still possible and they wouldnt know more til later...

hoping today is "later"! LOL

what else can I expect at a 30 week appt? anything interesting?

I am going tomorrow and I am doing a sono too (at 30 weeks). My last appt, my doc said it was to see how the baby is growing, etc.

I didn't have this as part of my regular procedure with my last pregnancy though. I did have a growth sono, but that was because I was carrying so small, I wanted to make sure the baby was ok.

My office does it at 32w, not 30w, but yes - if you're getting a sono, it's the growth one (and likely your last one unless there's something specific they need to keep checking for, like amniotic fluid, extremely high or low weight, etc). Enjoy!
