I've noticed it's unpaid wages, money from insurance companies, sometimes from taxes. My sister never got her last check from a job she worked at years ago and it was listed. She filled out the form and they sent her the check!
ETA: It should say where the money is from.

I found my grandfather who passed in 07 $ just over the summer. My grandmother got the check last month and it was just about $800

No, this is legit through the government. Sadly, they are ovew money and still allow the government to keep it.

I have two claims, one is a store credit from Bed Bath and Beyond and one from a title company which I have to sign and get notarized. Those are escrow funds. I wonder how that got past me.
