Having an early Thanksgiving Tomorrow - Help!!
Good Morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm hosting a mini-Thanksgiving/Hubby's belated Bday tomorrow. We're having about 12 people total include the kiddies so not TOO huge but i'm a little nervous about what to make. 99% of the time, when we have people over, it's in the Summer and we have a huge BBQ.
Any suggestions on what to make? I don't want to do Turkey since everyone will be eating that on Thursday. DH is saying a Ham but I don't know.
Any better ideas? Help please!!

Not everyone is a fan of ham, so since that's what he wants I would do that and something else. Maybe baked chicken?

Maybe like baked clams, lasagna, etc stuff that just comes right out of the oven to the table.
I love stuff like that, so you arent running around like a loon when people arrive.

That's actually a great idea. Maybe i'll pick up a small ham and make a baked chicken. I haven't had that in ages and I have an amazing honey-butter marinade that I do.
Hmmmm.....
Thank you!
Any other suggestions? Any killer recipes? Even side dishes....
I appreciate it so much XO

That's what I was worried about, being stuck in the kitchen like a nut.

Re: Having an early Thanksgiving Tomorrow - Help!!
I'd do a honey baked ham... and a tray of lasagna or ziti.. so people can eat one or the other as a main entree... or have a little of both.
As to sides.. maybe a mashed potato bar? A bowl of sweet mash and a bowl of mashed yukons with a variety of toppings. I'd do some veg that holds together well - roasted Brussels sprouts or roasted broccoli. Maybeamommy's burnt broccoli is an easy and impressive veg dish. Some glazed carrots are a great sweet/salty dish to bring balance to the foods. And - of course - a basket of warm bread with olive oil for dipping and softened butter for spreading.
Apps are easy - some mini quiche or pigs in a blanket. A tray of assorted cheeses with grapes, figs and some flatbreads or crackers.

I am telling you sister, baked clams, lasagna is the way to go....add some garlic bread, shrimp cocktail, tomato and motz and basil salad, and you are good to go...all things that can be taken care of before your peeps arrive!

I'm fearful of doing lasagna bc it's DH's family and they're super Italian. I make a decent sauce but not even close to their standards. everything else, I could handle. Any suggestions on a substitution for the lasagna or tips on how to make it impressive??
Look at me, Mrs. Last Minute! I stink. Hubby would be one happy guy if you ladies helped me out every week lol

What about something more casual like a big pot of chili. That's easy to do ahead so you won't be stuck in the kitchen. You could even do one with chicken and one with beef for variety. I would start with a few apps and then a big salad and then serve the chili with sour cream, cheese, chips, and homemade cornbread
