Anyone tell their boss over the phone?

I rarely see my boss. Less than 1X a month. We work in different buildings and have different schedules. I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow. Other people have guessed that I am pregnant and it's a matter of time until she finds out.

Should I just tell her over the phone?

I had to do this b/c my boss worked in London and I worked in NY. It would have been great to do it in person, but it just didn't work out.

If I were you I'd just do it by phone since people are talking unless you can schedule a special in-person meeting.

I didnt tell my boss over the phone but thats cause i see her everyday unfortunately I see no issue with telling your boss over the phone .Go for it

I have 3 times! My bosses are in different states so I told them over the phone. Once they knew, then the rest of my office was told.

I would just start the conversation as, "So, I have some exciting news!" Then go from there.

I had to. My boss used to work out of 2 offices and he needed me to work in the other office for a few months on a huge project. I had to tell him no, that I will not be commuting anywhere-- that I'm pregnant! It didn't go that great...I caused quite a HUGE problem with management etc. but Oh well! I knew I was leaving as soon as I had the baby anyway. The pay was just terrible!
