SWR schools evacuated today due to bomb threat
Supposedly someone called in a threat and left it on a voicemail at the school. All 5 schools in the district were evacuated. Police came and checked all the rooms in all the buildings. They came up with nothing and then school went on as normal as could be.
It makes me SO angry to think my 5 year old baby was outside, in the cool weather, most likely with no jacket, possibly frightened and most likely for a long time because of some DUMB A$$!!!! I REALLY hope they find out who did it and they punish them to the full extent of the law. Think of all the money wasted, time wasted, scared teachers and children AND PARENTS... Soooo angry about this!

While I understand why you're upset, would you have wanted them to ignore the threat? I'm not sure what other solution there would be for that scenario. I'd definitely prefer my child to be outside in the cold than in a building that has had a bomb threat made to it.
But I do understand that you're upset, but I'd still be happy they did it. It's one of those double edged swords, kwim?

I think the poster is ****** at the person who called in the false threat, not the school district itself. Schools have been getting many false threats over the last five years. My husband's district has them every couple of months. Usually more around the testing days.

We had them all the time when I was in school. They usually are able to figure out who made the call. And the schools are usually good at getting everyone evacuated and safe.

Seriously?  I am upset that some idiot caused all that. I never said they didnt do the right thing. As a matter of fact Im a teacher and have to do the exact same drill at least once every year.
It just pisses me off that someone would actually pull something like that. And yes, Im glad it wasnt a rainy day, or freezing, but I was cold :) My coworker and I wore our jackets IN the school today. It doesnt matter. It sucks that thousands of kids had to be evacuated, it sucks teachers and parents were scared b/c of some stupid dumb a$$! I really hope they figure it out.
