Price for nursery

After much disappointment at various stores, we finally picked a crib and such out from JCP. We're getting a crib, dresser with a hutch, glider, and ottoman. This is all going to cost about $1,600 Is this good or no? I'm going crazy but I haven't bought this much furniture all at once since we moved in years ago!

If you don't mind responding, how much did everyone else spend?

Re: Price for nursery

I think that price sounds good--especially with the glider and ottoman. My glider and ottoman were a little over $600 and we paid a lot more for our furniture. We decided to go with Romina which is more expensive though. It seems like you got a lot for your money. Chat Icon

I think I'm going to do it! Is there such a thing as a glider and an ottoman with storage?

Re: Price for nursery

It sounds like you got very good prices! My glider was over $400 and I didn't even get an ottoman to go with it!

Re: Price for nursery

I got all my dd nursery furniture from jcp and paid 1750 so I think that is good price. I didn't get a glidder from there, I got it from walmart.

Re: Price for nursery

Thats a decent price, yes. But be sure to use a coupon code- like RMNAFF10 for 10% off or google 'jcp promo code) We got our set from JCP (but it was the crib, long dresser and tall dresser- no hutch or ottoman) for $899+ tax + shipping (which was $300- make sure you look into that- the nursery sets are generally around 300 to ship since they come from the warehouse, they're is no way around it). But if you use coupon codes (or your JCP card or apply for one for percentage off) it should sorta cancel out the shipping. Good luck!

I didn't want to spend that much money. Our crib was a gift from DHs parents 300ish and then we purchased the mattress (I wanted a specific one). I Knew I didn't plan on keeping the changing table around so I found one on craigs list. We have a closet system in place of a dresser. We don't have a large house so I'm just trying to keep as much room as possible..you know for the toys lol.

Re: Price for nursery

We got DS' crib from JCP two years ago and it was under $300 before tax. Free shipping to the store then we picked it up.

I got a recliner swivel glider (so no need for an ottoman) for about $500.

We used an existing dresser for his clothes so no extra cost there.

I know a few people that spent over $2K on just 3 pieces then extra for the glider. I think JCP is pretty reasonable for their furniture prices. And read the reviews! The reviews for my DS' crib were great and they were spot on. Hard wood, metal spring base for the crib (no fake MDF "wood" board) etc. It's still in really great condition.

ETA: The mattress was about $200 from BBB and we got it as a gift at the shower.
