Nap help needed!
My DS is 12 weeks and has been sleeping through the night since he came home! That being said, naps are rough. He cries when he gets tired and sometimes fights it so bad! He will not fall asleep anywhere but my arms. A couple weeks ago I tried putting him down in his crib after he fell asleep on me and he took good long naps but then all of a sudden one day cried when I put him down. I have tried swadling him and putting him in the Rock n Play (where he sleeps at night) but he was waking right up. Today he fought the nap so bad that I nursed him a little and he fell asleep. Then we swaddled him lightly and put him in Rock and Play and he is actually sleeping... for now! Not even sure what my question is but I guess im just wondering if anyone else if all over the place with naps like this? THanks!

Re: Nap help needed!
Maybe he is over tired, try putting him down for a nap earlier. Do u put him down sleepy but awake or do you put him down asleep?

Re: Nap help needed!
I put him down asleep cause when I put him down sleepy he just cries. I know people have different opinions about this but I think he is too young to just let him cry.

Re: Nap help needed!
I feel your pain!!!
Right now I SOMEHOW have him napping (and instead of getting dressed or getting stuff done, I'm on LIF! lol). BUT - I had to drag the Rock N Play in our room, where we have room darkening shades. And I have him swaddled.
I definitely think I have to pay more attention to his fussiness and realize that's a sign that it's time to nap. I'm trying to get more in tune with him, which is rough since he's colicky to begin with!
He woke up at 7:30a, ate and then wanted to play, so we did the activity mat and Baby Einstein. Then he got fussy during that so I held him and tried to calm him down (holding his hands down while he's fussing/crying/screaming helps to calm my son... try it with your baby). I swaddled him and put him in for a nap at about 9:30a and he slept for 45 minutes and woke up hungry. Fed him then. He wanted nothing to do with the activity mat, but I tried more Baby Einstein. After a half hour, he got fussy again. I picked him up and couldn't soothe him for nothing - and then out of nowhere, he calmed down and fell asleep on my shoulder. Swaddled him and he's napping now. (But he'll probaby wake up since I just jinxed it!).
It's definitely a struggle to get those naps in, but I'm trying to do it without having to constantly drive with him or walk the stroller all over Long Island. lol.
