Chin rash from drool/pacifier won't go away
The Ped didn't seem too concerned about the bumpy chapped rash on DD's chin at her one year appt and said use Vaseline and A&D on it, but we're almost at 2 weeks with it.
Anyone have a miracle cure for this?

I unfortunately don't have a cure. I just have the same problem.
I just took my 1 yr old DD for a visit as well and the ped wasn't concerned.
It doesn't seem to bother her, but she's had it for about 2 weeks as well.
The ped told me not to put any steroid creams on it because if the rash returns, it'll be worse. He mentioned triple antibiotic cream.
I've been hoping that it'll dry out and heal up. Not yet.

My niece and nephew used to get that. There was never a concern either. Can you cut down on the pacifier use at all to let it air out?

DD had this the ped prescribed a cream and it went away. I use Eucerine on her chin for months after to keep it at bay.

DS got this when he was 8 months old, and I couldn't keep the paci away long enough for it to heal so we took the paci away completely. It took three days of crying but then DS was over the paci and his skin cleared up after a week or two.

That's what I might have to do, but she sucks her thumb and drools too, though I guess it's not trapping drool like the paci does.. she only uses it to fall asleep, I don't feel like it's in long enough to keep a rash going for so long.

Aquaphor seems to work for me. It worked well for DS1.

we have this right now DD is 7 months...it's on 1 side of DD's face and moving on to her chin...ped prescribed a cream for it.

Re: Chin rash from drool/pacifier won't go away
My DD had this also at her one year checkup. When I asked about it the doctor told me that it was a great time to drop the pacifier and get rid of it completely!
I have to say that I am so glad that I did it then! She had no problems adjusting. And I have heard so many stories of it being harder when they get older, so I am so glad that I took the doctor's advice.
It only took a few days for the rash to dry up and go away after getting rid of the paci!
