What kind of vehicle do you drive?

Also tell me your pros and cons about it.

In the market for a car, we wont be buying brand new. Also know i dont want a mini van or a suv. Maybe some sort of crossover/station wagon or something.

Re: What kind of vehicle do you drive?

We have the Ford Fusion (its our second one bc I love love love them so much). HUGE trunk (I used to have the full size stroller, the umbrella stroller and the PnP in the truck with room to spare), super roomy in the back - even when we go to two carseats come December. Lots of bells and whistles, its a lot of car for the money. Great resale, great ratings, and great gas mileage. Never a single problem with either of them, not even a minor one.

DH has a new hyundai elantra but that would be too small for an every day family car. We take mine everywhere and he just uses his to commute. Great little car though.

As long as they keep making the Fusion, I will keep buying them.

Re: What kind of vehicle do you drive?

we have the honda accord and CRV both 2010.

We love the accord and I like the CRV but we feel like there is not enough for us. I know we are in the minority. I wish we got the Pilot. The trunk is small. We only have 1 child and it's always a hassle when we have to go away and have a lot of stuff. It is good for me, a sahm, and dd for regular travel but when we have our next kid I think we will need bigger. The accord has more room in the back seat, more leg room and it is wider. Plus 1 of us has to in the back with dd on long car rides, b/c she is a maniac Chat Icon , and being the back seat is a bench seat is a little uncomfortable and you feel every turn and bump.

Overall we are not happy with the CRV Chat Icon

Re: What kind of vehicle do you drive?

I have a Jeep Commander. They don't make them anymore bc the new Liberty replaced it. I have to say, I thought my car was SO big and roomy but it seems so much smaller now. I love my car but after putting the infant seat in it, there is hardly any room for a passenger to ride in the front seat. I also thought I had so much trunk space but after the stroller goes in and the bassinet attachment for it (I have the Uppa Baby so granted that is a big stroller), there is not room for much else. DH and I were just commenting on how we would have very limited space to travel for a long trip in this car. We are in the process of moving into a new house but once that is settled I think we are going to go for a new car. I'm not into mini vans either but I can see how appealing all that extra space can be. We are probably going to get the Escalade with the extended trunk. I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of driving such a huge truck at first, but I think that all of that extra room will be so worth it.

I have the 2011 VW Tiguan and I like it a lot. The only issue I have it DS can reach the locks and locks me out when I try to get him out of the car. I am aware and always have the keys in my hands to prevent this. That is the only con. It's roomy and drives well.

DH has a 2011 Pathfinder with all the bells and whistles possible. Biggest pro is when you put the car in reserve you can see behind you on the screen display in the front. No need for rear view mirror and there is no chance of hitting anything behind you.

Much roomier than my car and has optional third row seating which is nice when we have my nephews around.

We have a Kia Forte and a Saturn Vue.

I love both, but I like the car better. We got a great deal and it's fully loaded. It's surprisingly roomy inside too, even with 2 RF car seats in it.

I have acura MDX and we love it. It's a huge trunk space if you fold down the last row but it's more like a SUV but drives like a sedan but high off the ground. One of my friend has the toyota crossover car...venza and she loves it!

Re: What kind of vehicle do you drive?

I’m a Mazda Maven, I’m on my 4th.

Currently we have:

2001 Tribute (bought end of 2005 used): Small SUV, 4X4 capabilities. I loved the space it gives when we drop the back seat. Its great on gas for an SUV V6. Small enough for tight fits and parking spots. Nimble and powerful enough to get me where I’m going in a jiffy while having fun doing it. I’ve put tons of Ikea stuff in there (I mean a TON of stuff) and also just taken the family to the coast for a trip with it. It has over 100k miles and still runs like a dream. I was hit by a drunk driver and she got me through it without any harm. I am a fan. It was supposed to be our beater car and future kid-can-mess-it-up car but its proven to be a real asset!

2003 Mazda6 (in SpeedYellow). We bought THIS to be our family car in 2005, used. Instead we started to modify it. Still it is the most used car. Its got even BETTER gas mileage for a V6 than my Tribute. Trunk space is pure awesomeness. I moved myself and AJ down with just the car. We had a huge box of clothes, a large luggage, my brother’s luggage, AJ’s tub, her clam shell nap area, blankets, pillows, diapers and other necessities ALL inside the trunk. It was insane! Its smaller inside but its cozy in my opinion. I have no problems getting AJ in or out of the car. She’s 3 and uses a Recaro Como seat. Although we have no cup holder on her seat, she uses the fold down from the back. This car has approximately 67k miles (so VERY low) and its been a good stable car. I’ve had more mechanical issues with this one, but it’s a first generation, first edition vehicle, so it comes with the territory. I would not, however, recommend the new Mazda6. Its just not the same. But that’s a personal opinion.

We planned to buy the Mazda5 but the new version of that turned us off. Currently we are just going to sit and wait until the New Mazda CX5 comes out in 2013. Both of our cars are paid off (have been since 2005) so we are in no rush. If I had some spare cash, I’d buy a CX9 right now.

We never buy new (to us it’s a waste again JMHO)

I prefer Mazda over everything else I’ve owned (yes I had others) because I get all the bells and whistles included at the front, not having to negotiate for things. I like the style and feel of most of them (though I will admit not all of them wow me). To get the same list of ‘add-ons’ if you will in another car, even if that other car starts cheaper it always ends up costing more. I love that Mazdas are very easy to maintain and parts are easy to come by (even after the Japan disaster). It’s a low profile, not overly fancy, reliable and stylish choice.

Re: What kind of vehicle do you drive?

right now i have the 2009 TSX, love it but I need a bigger car.

i am trying to decide between a 5 seater crossover SUV or a 7 pass.

i am thinking that for this next lease, ill get a 5 pass and then the one after that, ill go 7. we do plan to have another child within the next few years so its more a concern then.

i am looking at

Volvo XC60
Mercedes GLK350 (have some great leasing options now)
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Acura MDX
Nissan Murano

if we were going 7 pass now, it would likely by the Honda Pilot.

We have a Jeep too. The gas is not the greatest but not the worst either. DS has a Britax Advocate CS which is a huge seat and it fits in there well. He's almost 2 and still rear-facing and is comfortable. I can easily see another carseat in there. The trunk space is good, our large stroller fits in there along with other things. No complaints about that. Also, we've found that the trucnk is a great space to change a diaper! Really easy and convenient and lets us avoid being on the search for a bathroom with a gross changing table.

I don't love the way it drives, wish it were smoother. I think I'm in the minority though as most people who have Jeeps love them and get them again and again.

Re: What kind of vehicle do you drive?

Honda Element. I love this car since having DD. It is stain/scratch resistant. If DD spills anything in the car, I can hose it out or spray the floors with cleaner and it comes right out. The doors swing wide open. DD has soo much leg room and the trunk fits her wagon and stroller or tricycle without a problem.

I am not a mini van person either, I ended up with a Buick Enclave (a CUV) and I am super thrilled with it.

DH has a 4-door Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited. Not as smooth and roomy as the Enclave, but can fit all 4 of us with no issues.

2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade edition. I love it but there really aren't any bells and whistles. I LOVE LOVE LOVE jeeps but one thing you end up compromising on as a jeep owner is the bells and whistles. but it's safe
