If your child refuses to eat what you made for dinner
Do you give something else?
Dd 15 months old just threw her dinner clear across the room w/out even trying it.
I took her out of the hc do I offer something else or leave it be?

I am not at that point yet since DD is only 12 months but I think I would let it be. Maybe in an hour offer her the same meal again.

Re: If your child refuses to eat what you made for dinner
DS is 13 months and if he doesn't want what is in front of him I usually try giving it to him again about 45 minutes later. Sometimes he's just not hungry yet. But I definitely wouldn't make him something else.

I'm having the same problem with DS. He is so picky and only likes sweets stuff. I don't really know what to do.

Re: If your child refuses to eat what you made for dinner
if its breakfast, forget it if its lunch, forget it too dinner is one meal I like to give at least something because I don't want him to go to bed hungry I'll over fruit and crackers, rarely do I go fancier than that.
kids will eat eventually, best thing that helps is to eat all together, and insist they sit as long as you do and wait for you to finish. Eventually he'll take a bit of something. I never put the whole meal on his tray, just a taste of each thing I have.

He doesn't eat it - he goes hungry. I'm not offering him dinner 10x a night and I'm not offering him different dinners. We put every meal on the table and if he doesn't eat within a certain period of time, it gets taken away.

Re: If your child refuses to eat what you made for dinner
Thanks. She's been picky with dinner lately. She's fine with Bfast and lunch. She may not be hungry for dinner. I was just wondering what everyone did. I took her out and she didn't eat. We went for a walk and she had some goldfish and water but that's it. She's done this before so I know she won't wake up b/c she's hungry n
Thanks

If DS doesn't eat his dinner I will offer him cheerios but that's it. I don't cook him a second dinner.

Nope. If she doesn't eat what I give her then I don't offer anything else. Those are just the nights when she actually finishes her bedtime cup of milk.

Agreed! I rarely had that issue when DS was little. But now at 3.5yo he will say he doesnt want that and I say well you get no snacks or dessert until you eat your dinner and I leave it on the table...I refuse to cave and make multiple things a night.
