DS's reflux seems to be improving but now it's the gas!
My son has had reflux since birth. He is on 3/4 solutab of Prevacid once per day and has seen 2 Pediatric GIs. LIJ wants to do an endoscopy but my Ped and I and DH feel this is a very last resort.
His formula has been switched numerous times with the last resort being Nutramigen which he despises. He actually projectiles it more than regular formula. Oddly enough the best formula for his reflux is Similac Advance, but this formula seems to cause him to have very bad gas.
I don't know what to do anymore, I feel like I need to choose between the lesser of the two evils, which in my opinion is gas because I can give him things (drops, tea, etc) to help him feel better.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom or offer any hope that this is just a phase that will end soon?

Re: DS's reflux seems to be improving but now it's the gas!
Hey! I was actually in a similiar situation a couple of weeks ago. DD is 11 weeks old and she also has acid reflux. We switched her from breast milk to similac advanced ready to feed to enfamil gentlease ready to feed to nutramigen ready to feed then back to gentlease ready to feed to finally nutramigen. DD was very gassy on similac advanced and gentlease but had projectile vomiting almost with every bottle when she was on nutramigen ready to feed. Right before we switched her back to nutramigen powder, she started taking Prevacid so I guess the combination of both nutramigen powder and prevacid improved her conditions. She doesn't really projectile vomit anymore but still spits up. She would still spit up during burping, spit up cottage cheese looking things minutes after feeding and clear liquid hours after feeding. What made us decide to try nutramigen again was because we rather take the spit up than her grunting and pulling her legs from the gas since mylicon didn't really work for her. We also noticed that nutramigen ready to feed was SOOOO thin and that was probably what caused her to projectile vomit since I could hear it splashing in her little belly whenever I move her to burp her!
