I throw the tray in the sink and wash with hot wateR SOAP AND SPONGE THEN I TAKE A CLOROX WIPE AND TRY MY HARDEST TO CLEAN THOSE DAMN STRAPS

I washed it after every meal when food was going right on there-- now I wipe it down now that we are using plates all the time and wash in the sink every few days. We used to put in dishwasher every night, but it doesn't fit in our new dishwasher in the house.

When we were using one, it was cleaned after every meal - the tray, the seat/padding. And now, I wipe down Charlie's booster seat after every meal. I think it's the same as wiping down my table and counters after every meal...

I would take the tray and wash it in the sink after every meal. I would wipe down the side and anywhere else that was dirty immediately after a meal, it's so much easier to clean when it's not dried on! I would also wash the pad and straps every other week.
Now his car seat is another story! Out of sight out of mind on that one

I wipe down seat and tray after every meal with spray and then a wet paper towel. If he has cheerios or something of that nature it may get over looked. I don't clean under the pad everyday though. I'd say it gets a deep cleaning once a week.

Actually, I hated cleaning my high chair so much that I bought the Ikea one that is just plastic with a plastic tray. No cushions, no crevices, etc., because it skeeves me out so badly to not have a clean high chair. And quite honestly, I felt like I could never get the regular one clean enough or it was too hard to clean after he ate so I just tossed it. Not worth it in my opinion.
I would have just wiped it down the best I could with wipes and gotten over it, though.

I have always found those plastic high chairs really really hard to clean, thats why I have a a wooden one. Its so easy to clean, I can just a sponge and get the crap off in one fell swoop, once a week or so I give it a good scrub with a green scrubby cloth. I have two wooden chairs, one for each kid.

We only use DS high chair for meals, he dosn't really eat snacks in it but yes...we clean it after every use! I use 7th generation spray on the tray and seat and wipe down any other place where food might have gotten. I also end up cleaning the floor underneath the high chair at every meal as well.

I keep mine spotless, I actually got ride of my regular high chair and got the Keekaroo wooden one because there's no cracks or crevices and it's easy to clean. I think a dirty high chair is disgusting

WOW! that's disturbingly gross!! UGH!! I would have felt the same way as you do!
Also, I don't know HOW in the world they would offer that high chair and NOT be embarrassed!!!
We scrub the house before company and it's not even a huge mess beforehand!!!
DD isn't anywhere's near the high chair just yet... so IDK how often it will get cleaned... I'm figuring I'll clean it after each meal and then give it a really good cleaning once a day to once a week.
I have the wooden one... so I'm THRILLED to see a few comments on how easy it is to clean.

We were somewhere in the middle.
Cleaned the tray and did a quick crumb removal after every meal - usually washing the tray in the sink. Once a month or so I would remove the vinyl cover and wash it in the washing machine and really clean all the cracks and crevices. I don't think the tray went through the dishwasher more than a few times though cuz it was so big and took up so much room.

We clean the trays with hot soapy water after each meal. I wash the straps and covers occasionally and wipe them down if I see dirt

I hate cleaning the highchair, but I do it 3x a day. After every meal the tray get washed in the sink w/ soap & water. The entire chair gets sprayed & wiped down w/ a vinager solution. I throw the pad/straps in the machine once a week. I still feel like it isnt clean enough.

I take the tray off and wash it in the sink and then let it dry after every meal.
I wipe DD down with a wet washcloth after every meal, so then I use the same washcloth to just wipe the part behind her head - she gets food on that when she turns her head.
Once a week the whole thing gets thrown into the wash - sometimes I forget, sometimes its more than once a week, it depends.
I am constantly fishing food out of that thing!!

When he used a high chair, it was cleaned after each meal. No caked on funk, wiped and deep scrubed weekly. I could never let food just sit in or on it. No freaking way.

ITA and leftover food SKEEVES me!! I clean it after every meal as best I can and I bring it to the garbage to shake out the cover over it. The magic eraser works wonders on the highchair. I also do a deep clean once a month where I put cover in washer and take off straps and then clean the base thoroughly.

Same here, since i'm wiping down the table anyway I just give the booster a quick wipe down too.

Thank GOD someone else said it.
I am that there are people who don't clean it. How unsanitary for those poor children who have no choice but to sit in a filty seat and eat their meals.
How long could it take to wipe it down a bit?
