Re: Please share your signs from loved ones in Heaven.

My father passed away in July of 05 after a long and painful illness. We sent out wedding invites in December of 05 for our Feb 06 wedding. The wedding date had been set before he passed away and in his spirit, it was to go on.

My mom had gone on vacation and i went to the house to get and open response cards because I lived close. I decided one day while I was there to check the answering machine to see if there were messages or emergencies when she wasn't there. Sure enough, there had been a message from the dry cleaner that a tuxedo belonging to my father had been there since April of 04 (the last time he wore it) and if someone didn't come to get it, they would donate it. I ran to pick it up.

I found it more than coincidental that after all that time, right after my wedding invites went out, that his tux needed to be picked up.

I had a black tie wedding and my father was ready to danceChat Icon

I actually thought of one more that just happened recently.

I was out at the wineries on the 4th and I bought a bottle of wine called "Sunrise, Sunset." It was one of the wines they were offering tastings of that day. Two days later, DH's family reminded us that it was the anniversary of us passing. Not that I "forget" that he passed away, but the fact that the anniversary of his passing completely and totally escaped me.

At our wedding this past November, DH & his mom danced to a video of DH's Grandfather singing. The song he was singing? "Sunrise, Sunset."

When my grandfather was alive, he used to give my brothers (I never met him) a quarter for every cardinal they spotted. He loved cardinals! On the day of my grandmother's funeral we were waiting to walk into the church. Sure enough, a cardinal hovered around the casket for a few mintues. It was a very comforting moment for everyone.

Before we bought our house we were in the yard with my parents, and a cardinal landed on the fence. We took it as a sign. We have many cardinals here and feel such happiness whenever we see them. They are special birds. And many people I've met have spiritual connections and stories with them, as well.

My grandmother lived with us for years before she passed. One night my mother was going thru old pictures & there was a container of the old tin pictures. I brought them up to my room.

On three different occasions after that I found a tin picture on the right hand side of my entertainment center. I ask my friends if they found it & put it up there they said no. I asked my mom, she said no. She told me the picture she believed was of my grandmother's brother.

One night, I woke in the middle of the night and saw a woman standing on the right hand side of my entertainment center, shifting from one foot to the other. She was looking right at me.... at first I was scared, then I thought it was my mother, I got up and walked towards her, reached my hand towards her, said "mom?" and she disappeared.

I realized it was my grandmother.

No one in my family believed me. They laughed at me. My father saw her years later in the hallway, an image that peered around the corner and disappeared. My brother slept in my room one night and left me a telephone message saying he is sorry he ever doubted me and he saw her.

Rainbows & butterflies.
My sister passed 9 days before my wedding & ever since then my mom and I see rainbows all of the time...even when you normally wouldnt see a rainbow, we see them.
Butterflies: they are always circling my mother and her car. I know its my sister saying hello to mom.

About a month after my wedding I was sitting in my living room with DH & all of a sudden I started sniffing everything - cause all I smelled was my sister. And mind you, I had not seen her in 2 years & none of her belongings had ever been in my apartment before. But her scent was so distinct and strong to me!

I have to start by saying that I am not sure I believe in "signs" and what have you.

My father died in Dec 2007. His favortie musician was always Elvis Presley and his absolute favorite song was "Suspicious Minds" - I remember him blaring this song since I was little.

Well, last Thursday I was driving in the car thinking about my father and all of a sudden I turn on the radio (mind you I always listen to pop stations etc.) and "Suspicious Minds" was on. My logical side knows it was probably a big coincidence but part of me wonders as this is certainly not a popular song or anything...

My father passed away about two years before I met my husband, so obviously they never met. My father had collected and raced antique cars. It was the hobby he loved most.

My now husband proposed early on a Sunday morning in a park by the water. About five minutes after he proposed, we took a walk in the park and came upon two men, with two antique cars in the middle of the park. They were there taking photos for a calendar. I had never seen antique cars in this park before, and certainly not at 9:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning in November. I'm not big on signs, but I have always considered this to be one, of my father giving us his blessing.

What was really nice was that we told the men with the cars that we had just gotten engaged and my connection to antique cars. They asked if we wanted to have our picture taken in one of the cars to remember the moment. We graciously accepted now, over ten years later, that is still one of my favorite photos of us.

Re: Please share your signs from loved ones in Heaven.

My mom died February 2007... one our way home from MI we stayed in PA. I woke up in the middle of the night because I felt movement and then a gentle touch on my leg. I was not scared it was just so tender and I was thinking how thoughtful of my DH to check on me on his way to the bathroom. SO I layed there waiting for him to come back but when I opened my eyes he was sound asleep in bed. I know in my heart of heart my mom was checking up on me.

When we were children she always did her rounds before she went to bed for the night and that is exactly the feeling I had when I woke up.

I have had many dreams of her...but lately I am with different sibling on her deathbed....and this last time...I was telling my two sisters that it is ok if we let mom go she will be at peace. And with that she whispers to me. "I am at peace." The interesting thing about this is my mom died on the operating table so there was no deathbed and no preparation for us...her death was very sudden. But I believe that was her coming through in my dream letting us know she is at peace. I have not dreamt of her since. And it has helped me find some peace with her death.

Re: Please share your signs from loved ones in Heaven.

I just want to add this one:

I always go to the local cemetery to visit my grandparents grave and decided to bring my hubby bc he never went with me before. He told me on the way that his grandparents were also buried in the same cemetery but hasn't visited them since their death- 18 years ago. He said he knew what section so I suggested we look for the grave on our own. (crazy right). So we went to the section and split up and searched every grave, up and down for some time. I just stopped after a while and said a prayer to his grandma asking for her to send us a sign to help us. Out of no where, I said out loud 'look for the flag' and I told my hubby this. He thought I was crazy until we found the grave.. and an american flag sitting on the grave directly to the right of it. Coincidence? Not sure but def weird!!!

We got the call my gramps passed away in 1997 when we were on vacation in Disney. While waiting to fly home the next day, we asked for a rainbow to let us know he was ok. Sure enough about a hour later, a rainbow appeared from no where out of the sky. But there are other signs...besides the rainbows, whenever I hear Frank Sinatra (imparticular My Way) I think that is my gramps saying hello and when I smell cigarette smoke when there is no one around (he was a smoker).

Re: Please share your signs from loved ones in Heaven.

My MIL died while I was 7 months pregnant. She was so so so excited to be a grandmother so all i kept focusing on was that she would never be able to hold him. A couple of months I had a dream of her saying "don't worry I hold him all the time". It of course freaked me out a bit, bc she believed in all of that stuff, but i figured it was just me trying to comfort myself.

A few weeks after the dream my dh and I go to a psychic who says to me "the dreams you are having aren't dreams, they are visitations'. I lost it! I loved her so much so that brought immense comfort to me. I never even mentioned the dreams.

Hope that brings to comfort to others who "dream" of their loved ones Chat Icon

I never received any signs from a loved one either. I have a feeling I never will. Chat Icon But then again, it would probably have to be a VERY obvious sign for me to even notice.

she passed away in february 2008... FEBRUARY. as in, the middle of winter, as in nothing is blooming then.
BUT the day of her funeral, it was about 65 degrees, and the forsythia bushes in front of her house were in bloom!!! i really feel like it was her way of letting us know that was ok and happy Chat Icon

My Dad passed away last December. The morning he was being buried I was feeding DD#2 in her gilder in her room (it was like 3am). I was crying and thinking about my Dad and how I was going to get through the day and all of a sudden her sound/light machine start flickering. I took it as a sign that he was ok. It has never flickered before or after that.

I am going to see a medium in few weeks and I really hope I get read.

Re: Please share your signs from loved ones in Heaven.

Not me but DH...
while we were dating he was driving home from my house one night and his key popped out of the ignition, just as the light turned green. He said he was startled and then BAM - this guy goes barreling through the red light - definietly would have killed him.

When he was younger his dad had a car that the key would pop out of the ignition. This had never happened in DH's car and never happened again. He thinks it was his dad saving him from harm

Re: Please share your signs from loved ones in Heaven.

My grandfather passed 10 yrs ago this november. He was my world.

A few monthsnago, my grandma was very sick. She was having these very odd dreams. She told me she spoke to my grandfather in a dream, and he saw my ds playing in his room with his Batman toy. ( we had just bought ds a Batman atv for xmas, gram had NO IDEA). Ds sees pics of grandpa in my house, and always says hi pop pop to them. We were at the nursing home seeing my gram, when ds picked up a pic of gram and grandpa dancing and says HI POP POP and waves to the corner of the room.

After he died, I was driving his car. It was about a week or two after. I was thinking about him, and talking to him. I was on sunrise, and when i past his exit, i looked to get off and he was sitting next to me in the outfit he wore to the hospital before he passed.

I went back to work after the funeral. I was standing there holding the shoes he never came in to buy and got a smell of him. He had asmell. Not a bad one, just my grandpas smell. I bought the shoes anyway and have them in the basement.

It doesnt freak me out he is here. Im thrilled. I would give anything to have 5 mins more to just lay with him. Chat Icon

Oh, and before they closed the casket my uncle put three shiney new pennies in my grandfathers jacket. Whenever we talk about him or go to the cemetary, we find a shinny new penny heads up. So, he is always around.

Re: Please share your signs from loved ones in Heaven.

It's ironic, but I just had the dream this morning and woke up, went on FB and got the other sign connected to it.

I had a dream I was pregnant, DH and i were in the delivery room, I'll spare the details of the delivery, which were in my dream, but the doctor puts my little boy on my chest and I looked at DH and said ...there he is..Daniel Patrick. I was holding him and we were so happy, my parents were there and my BFF.

Then the dogs woke me up. LOL.

But it was beautiful and I wasn't sad in the dream and I wasn't even sad when I woke up, although annoyed with the dog.

Then I went on FB and I think I copied it from LaurenExp, about the not forgetting all the babies we never go to have, Nicholas, Rogan, and how it's almost a taboo subject to talk about this kind of loss.

But I finallygot to hold my son, and it was an awesome dream.

I just remembered another one. My DH's grandfather passed away just about 2 years ago, and at a Jewish burial, it's tradition for everyone to put a rock on the headstone. My Dad, my DH, and I were all at the burial.

We went back to my house, and there were three rocks randomly sitting on top of the hose container. The hose is in the driveway. The only place that there are rocks are in the backyard.
