Flying with a toddler for the first time

These might be stupid questions, but I have never flown with DD and am not sure of the answers so I figured I'd ask here! Chat Icon

Do I need a copy of DD's birth certificate to fly? We are flying JETBLUE.

And, where do you change DC's diaper on the plane???? The bathrooms are so small and I don't remember there being any place to change a diaper.

Re: Flying with a toddler for the first time

I'm not sure about the birth certificate bc our DS has a passport so we just brought that (although they never asked for any ID for him).

As for changing her, some planes have changing tables on the plane BUT, the planes we flew on did NOT and so we had to change him in our seat, and it was a poopie diaper of course! I asked the flight attendant about it and she was the one who told me to change him in our seat. We just laid him across our row of seats with a changing pad underneath and did what we had to. Both DH and I were there so that made it easier.

Ugh, the poor passengers when I have to change DD's diaper Chat Icon Chat Icon Hopefully she won't poop on the 2 1/2 hour flight!

Thanks for the feedback - will check to see if I need a copy of her birth certificate.

I am taking Delta and they told me no but I heard some do. I would call and ask. Did you get DD her own seat? If not you need to tell them you are bringing a baby.
