Just found out I was passed over for a promotion
Even though I'm not sure I would have accepted the added responsibility at this point in my life, my ego is still bruised. The President said that my being passed over had nothing to do with my pregnancy. I feel like it must have been a factor otherwise why would he even bring it up since I didn't ask, maybe he had a guilty conscience. Just feeling bummed today and a little hurt, especially when it's announced to the staff, I'm sure they're all expecting that it would have been me.
A friend told me that in 5 weeks when my baby is born I won't give 2 flying *$&^% about this. Just had to vent.....

I'm sorry to hear this. I think he just said that it was unrelated to cover himself. However, if you feel that you are more qualified than the person who they picked for the new position, then you should definately ask what the reason for your being passed up is.
