Cheer Ultra Free and Clear okay? Or does it have to be Dreft?
Do we HAVE to use Dreft on baby's clothing?
Or can we use what we normally use - Cheer Ultra Free and Clear (which DH has to use because he's allergic to a lot of other stuff)?
Would you suggest washing EVERYTHING - or wash just the newborn/0-3 to make sure the baby's okay with the detergent?

Dreft might be gentle and smell nice but it's full of perfume. Anything that says free and clear is fine,a s it's free from dyes and perfumes and less likely to cause a reaction.
I wouldn't wash too much, since you don't know what size your baby will be when he's born, and your DH can always wash a few things while you're in the hospital or newly home. (You can't screw baby clothes up, they really don't shrink).

Any Free and Clear detergent is ok.
And don't wash everything! You don't know how big your LO will be and you want to be able to return what you don't need.

I'm not a fan of Dreft because it's NOT free and clear. Like LB said, it's full of perfume. I always get whatever free and clerar is on sale; All, Purex, Tide, Arm & Hammer, etc.

I get any Free and Clear that is on sale regardless of the brand. DS has horrible eczema that flares up if I use a detergent with a scent.
