Toddler bed at 16 months?!?!?!?
DS climbed out of his crib the other night at 16 months old! I am so afraid that he will do this again but I am also nervous about switching him to a toddler bed so early. We are having another baby in September and DS will be moving into his new room next week. I am thinking about transitioning him into a toddler bed at this time but I dont know how he will do. Any advice or suggestions?

I moved my son at 18 months (I was expecting another baby and wanted ample time to move him without him thinking he was getting evicted lol).. he did quite lovely.. we really made a big deal about moving him and what a big boy he was.. it was cute

DD#1 climbed out of her crib at 16 months also. We put her in a toddler bed and put a babygate on her door. We TOTALLY babyproofed her room. She slept on the floor the 1st few nights(we put her into her bed when she fell asleep) and then she was okay.

my BFF put her DS in a toddler bed at 12 months. he was already walking and knew how to climb down. it was easier for her because he could then walk into their room if he woke up at night instead of her having to get up.
if your DC is ready, then i'd say go for it. age does not matter

I'll be doing this too... I'm due with #2 in December... DS will be 15 months. I will probably move him in before hand too so he doesnt feel like he got kicked out!

I moved my girls to twin beds at 15 months and 17 months. They both did great at that age!
