How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
I have no clue how much furniture to get. I know baby clothes are small but I am worried we won't have enough space for everything. We registered for the 2 pieces below...my husband thinks we only need the lower one (as we are going to use it as a changing table as well). I would also like to buy a rocker and bookshelf at some point. How many dressers did you get for your room? Am I getting too much? Thanks!!!! Image Attachment(s):

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
I think it depends on how much you want to spend, what size nursery you have, and how long you plan to use that furniture.
We got a double dresser and an armoire (I replied to your other post with pics), and I have to say that I LOVE all the storage space in the armoire. All of towels, blankets, sheets, books, etc. are in there and there's still room to spare.

We are getting a crib, 6 draw dresser with the matching hutch on top and a side table. We have a huge double closet in the nusery which will hold lots of more clothes and things to come.
It all depends on how big ur room is ....and what u think ur gonna need!

We got a tall dresser and short dresser like you posted, plus a crib and glider. We have a nice size closet in the room. Should be enough, I think

We purchased a 5 draw chess, 6 draw dresser/changing table combo and 2 cribs. I agree with the other posters you have to determine how much room you have for the furniture.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
We got the crib, and the shorter longer dresser.. which has 6 drawers. Then I got a glider and ottoman.
That's it for furniture for now.
We did put up some shelves.
Eventually we plan on buying a small book shelf... and possibly a small closet type piece of furniture. But not right at the moment.

2 cribs, 2 dressers, 1 huge changing/dresser combo, glider/recliner with ottoman. The room has a huge closet so i think we are set with storage, but there is not much walking around space.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
For DS we got a crib, 6-draw double dresser an armoire and glider. I spent a ton of money on it and wasn't pleased with it after a few years. When he turned 3 we bought all new 'big boy' furniture.
So this time around I went cheaper and bought a Graco crib, changing table and smaller dresser. When DD turns 3, I will again get 'big girl' furniture that she can have until college. Her room has a double closet though so I don't need as much storage space.

We got 2 cribs (with draws under them), glider/ottoman, and we are Looking for dresser/changing table. We have a tiny room for the two little monkeys.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
We got a crib and a long dresser from Ikea which will double as a changing station.
I personally do not like the changing table dressers because I prefer all drawers and no cabinet. To me it seems more practical in the future.
I am using the bookshelf from my nursery when I was a baby and I purchased a glider and ottoman. The room is not that big and I think that should be more than enough.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
We have a big closet in there, so we only have a crib, a highboy, and a storage cube thingy with 6 bins.... for 2 boys! It's more than enough space.
eta: DS was never changed on a changing table, with the exception of the PnP attachment when he was NB. We always changed him on our bed or the couch or the floor with a changing pad.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
I just ordered a crib and 3-drawer dresser, which will double as the changing table. We already have a 5-drawer dresser in the room and there is a built-in closet.
ETA: We will also have a rocker armchair in the room from a set that I currently have in our bedroom.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
It really depends on budget, nursery size, etc.
We are sharing our 1 bedroom with baby for awhile because we only have a 1 bedroom apt currently, so space is a problem.
We only got the crib and one low dresser (three drawers) that will be used as the changing table also.
If we had more room, I'd get more another dresser or armoire.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
We got the crib, dresser with hutch, chest and one night stand. I am not sure if we will have enough room for the night stand now but we will hold it at my in-laws for a while if we don't. We plan to use this furniture for a long time so we did not want it to be discontinued.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
My plan is to hang on to the furniture for as long as I can so I wanted to invest in some good pieces. We got the crib with the full bed conversion kit, a 6 drawer chest of drawers, the long, lower bureau and a hutch.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
I'm very lucky to not have to buy furniture since we are getting my DHs grandmothers bedroom set. We are using the same two pieces that you are using and the closet.
I have a glider and plan on getting some type of bookshelf for toys and such. Possibly something like this.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
It will depend on the size of your nursery and your budget. We bought a set of baby furniture - a 6-drawer dresser, a changing table that has ample storage space and a convertible crib that can be used as a toddler bed and a full-size bed. I think that this is good enough for now.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
I purchased just the crib, glider and an 8 drawer long dresser from Ikea that will double as a changer. I already have a bookshelf.
Because there are only 3 drawers in the shorter dresser you chose, I would keep the chest on your registry as well. If you want the furniture to grow with her, she may need more than 3 drawers someday.
ETA: I just realized I already replied on this thread.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
we purchased:
* lifetime crib (turns into full bed) * dresser/changer combo * 6 drawer dresser * nightstand * bookshelf
when buying the furniture we looked at it as a longer term investment. we got the lifetime crib so she will hopefully be in this bed/set for a long time. so we factored in her using it many years from now and what needs she may have.

Re: How much furniture are you buying for baby's room?
the babys room isnt hugee but big enough to fit what we bought comfortably-
we got the crib, 3 drawer dresser for changing table, a 6 drawer dresser with the hutch attached and then the glider/ottoman. we figured its an investment now since the crib/bed will last a while and its beautiful.
