for girls that work out during pregnancy
when did you stop doing abs, or when will you stop doing abs? i believe i've read that after 1st tri (?) that you're supposed to stop doing exercises flat on your back... so is this when you would stop ab work? i just wonder, as i work on my crunches, if i am completely wasting my time and may as well stop now, or if it's beneficial somehow to keep going?

Re: for girls that work out during pregnancy
As I remember like you said no excercises on back after 12 weeks. I did planks through my pregnancy with ds, until it was impossible but continued my excercise regimen right up to the end.

Re: for girls that work out during pregnancy
I stopped doing abdominal exercises in pilates when I really couldn't bend properly, so I guess around 18 weeks. I stopped floor exercises around 30 weeks. I did zumba until 35 weeks.

Re: for girls that work out during pregnancy
I'm still doing abdominal work @ 20 weeks. I do very modified, specific exercises that are meant to be done in the 2nd trimester. My doctor not only said it was ok, but recommended it (she is very big on exercise throughout pregnancy). But check w/your doc because he or she may feel differently.

Re: for girls that work out during pregnancy
I stopped doing my regular abdominal workout when I found out I was preggo but I bought a couple of prenatal videos that I do. One in particular (10 Minute Solution Prenatal Pilates) has abdominal exercises but shows you how to modify depending on trimester.

Re: for girls that work out during pregnancy
I tried to tell my trainer that I needed to stop right away, but he didn't buy it. By the second trimester he modified things for me - raise knee to opposite elbow and on all fours, bring belly button into the back.
