A boat of sushi and a whole entire bottle of Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio.
You took the words out of my mouth - except I may just want a straw for the wine.
Oh, and a nice juicy steak cooked medium.

Re: Push gift
Well, when DS was born, it was a bit unfair because he was born the day before my birthday, so all I got was my birthday present!
I already told DH, regardless of what he wants to call it, push present, birthday present (I'm due around my birthday again!!!) or "just to shut you up" gift, I want one of these with my last name initial in the middle and my kids' first names on either side:

Re: Push gift
Not exactly a "push gift" but I am sending DS to camp for 4 weeks in August (the last 4 weeks of my pregnancy). It will give me a little break and ease his transition to nursery school. Best gift ever

Re: Push gift
My Dh is a gift giver. He is the best with presents. I have not requested anything and certainly won't refuse any present that he would like to give me.

Re: Push gift
i jokingly asked for a LV bag and DH laughed at me...I said I am giving him 2 babies I should get a bigger gift.
In all reality I am not expecting anything. Having the babies will be gift enough.

Re: Push gift
I don't think it's silly. After I have been laid up on bedrest for 8 weeks (as of right now), I deserve a nice gift. I don't care that he has been my servant for 8 weeks, this is his kid that I have had to put my entire life on hold for and I have definitely gotten the sh!t end of the stick.
Before bedrest, I started with a LV bag. Now I'm thinking my services are worth at least a Cartier watch. And sushi. And a Benz. I'm just sayin.

Re: Push gift
Before we got married I told DH I wanted a second wedding band - my band and ering band are very skinny, and it will really look amazing. I said get it for me for our 1 year or the birth of our first baby. Well, looks like those two days are going to be the same day, give or take. And DH has not been "amazing" or anything of the sort while I've been pregnant, so just another reason I should get it!
So yes, I am getting a push present

Re: Push gift
DH is a gift giver. Whether its a bad day, good day, amazing day, its an excuse to buy something. Even if its just my favorite treat (rainbow cookies) from my fav cafe an hour away. So after years of IF, many complications, carrying twins IN AUGUST, my first hospital stay :( and the arrival of our sons!, I think it def cause for celebration. Gifts, cake, parade, lol It's just how we roll.ha
Many couples I know do not exchange gifts, even for holidays, but we do, so I don't think either is silly.
He won't tell me, but i THINK its an eternity band with the boys birthstone. Which I will wear next to my wedding ring

I probably would as well. No offense to anyone I just think it's a little silly?!
I tend to agree. I think it's wonderful if your husband surprises you with a gift and I would love if my husband got me something. Just think if you ask for a gift it's not the same thing as him doing it on his own. Not as special IMO.
The only thing I want from my husband is for him to baby me until I'm recovered.
ETA: I may ask for a cold cut and seafood platter!

Re: Push gift
Push Presents aren't very popular here in AZ. None of our friends have done it and I know DH has never heard of it. I'm not planning on asking for one either. DH has been so amazingly hlepful to me throughout this entire pregnancy it's gift enough.

I have one of these necklaces with just my initials - LOVE it!!! I can't tell you how many compliments I get on it. My parents gave it to me as a bday gift this year. There is a jeweler in commack that makes them any which way you want it done - and reasonable.

Re: Push gift
my DH is always full of surprises and is a gift giver too...so maybe he'll do something special. I'd love a piece of jewelry with our lil girl's birthstone in it to wear and remember the special time and her

Re: Push gift
I never heard of push presents until LIF. I have issues with DH spending money on me.....
With that said, when DC #2 was born we hired a baby nurse for the first 8 weeks. So I guess you can say that sleep was my push present. Best thing I ever could have been given!

I feel bad for the wives of husbands who think it is silly. But....we are all entitled to our own opinions.
please don't feel bad for me.. i think its just as silly as DH does
I had never heard of a push present until a few years ago and my first reaction was 'what for'??
its soooo not me, and not dh either. i'm not doing this just for him, why should he get me anything? i'm doing this for both of us.. and the 'gift' is the child at the end of it all
But i get it.. not everyone thinks that way. More power to those ladies who drop hints and actually get something from it. It's just not the way i am
on the other hand, DH has promised me countless times that any night i want to go out and drink, he'll stay home with the baby.. and you know i'm going to take him up on it! (yeah, i know, wishful thinking)

Re: Push gift
I totally use my pregnancy as an excuse to get material items. Not gonna lie. So far I've gotten a David Yurman ring and Fendi bag and the baby isn't even here yet. Pregnancy is not easy, and if a few material items bring a smile to my face then DH is happy to gift me with a few special items.
