What advice were you given for registry items that you wouldn't have thought of on your own?

I feel like there's so much I need...but the BRU registry list isn't telling me!
What advice have people given you about must haves for your registry that you typically wouldn't think to put on there??

A mobile with a remote control so you don't have to go in the room to wind it up.

this is what i have heard:
- for first time moms, if you are considering/planning on having another in close age range, consider getting the city select stroller. for only $100 more you can get an adapter that turns it into a double stroller. if not, then city mini is a great one for one baby and you can get the adapter for a car seat. ive heard a lot of people tell me that travel systems are very bulky and heavy and to steer clear.
-don't get a high chair, it takes up too much room and is a pain in the neck. get a seat that straps to your kitchen/dining room chair
- dont get a bottle sterilizer, you wont use it
people climb out of the wood work and tell you all types of things, but this is what i can remember right now..
this was a good idea for a thread! im interested to hear what others have to say too

Get a swing that can plug into the wall; otherwise it eats through batteries
Skip the bottle and wipe warmer
Register for infant toys because they are expensive and you aren't going to want to have to buy them later (like those Lamaze toys run about $20 each)
What are you and DH into? My DH and I are boaters and skiers and travel often. We registered for things like the peapod, the superyard gate and some easy to travel with or beach things for the baby that will not work this year but will benefit us next summer and thereafter.

I was told not to get a wipe warmer (dries the wipes out sometimes), bottle warmer, bottler sterilizer and diaper genie. Didn't register for them and I never needed them.
I lived in an apartment for 11 months after DS was born so I didn't need a pack and play b/c everything was close and on one floor.
Now that I live in a 2 story house, we are debating pack and play or a bassinet for the first floor.
Also now that I have a 2 story I NEVER use the changing table, I'm downstairs most of the time. I used it more in the apartment b/c it was close.
Must: (for me based on what I used) burp cloths bottles onesies pacifer (if they like it, DS never used it) blankets swing stroller car seat mat for tummy time chair that attached to dinig chair instead of high chair Crib sheets Pad to protect the sheet in case the diaper leaks (stole from hospital)
The rest you can decide what works best for you. I lived in a small 2 bedroom and I was very careful about getting unnecessary thing that take up space.

Look for a swing that plugs in so you don't run through batteries like crazy.
