Need help with Baby Shower Thank You wording
Writing my thank you's today and had a few questions...
It was a Shower just for me, but DH walked in with me and were surprised by seeing all the blue to learn we're having a BOY! Then he left.
So... I was thinking of writing, in general:
Dear _______,
Thank you so much for celebrating my baby shower with me. "DH" and I were so happy you were there with us when we found out it's a BOY!
Thank you so much your gift (or do I write specific items?). We can't wait for Baby Anthony to use/play with it! (And for whom it applies: Your generosity is very much appreciated).

Is that good or should I write the specific gifts that were given? Some people gave a LOT... do I write it all in the card? There were some really special gifts that I'll refer to in some cards (like handmade items).
What do you think? TIA!

I always write the specific gift that the person gave. I feel like it shows you took the time to take note of all your gifts and who they were from. When it comes to someone giving a lot of stuff I try to mention the bigger items and then say "all the other accessories to go with it." (Ex. Thank you so much for the Spa bath and all the other bath time accessories!)

thats what i do too.
Same here. Everyone is different, but I'm not a fan of the generic "thank you for your generous gift" line, unless it was money. People take time to go shopping for me & I feel like if I'm sitting down & taking the time to write them, why not include specifics.. people like to be acknowledged.

That was the generic i used. Not one person bought just one gift. Everyone bought two or more. It was insane. I also received 12 handmade blankets & hats booties & cardigans. Which were all gorgeous. I mentioned those specifically. How thoughtful & special they were. If the gifts were bottles & nipples and bibs & receiving blankets i just wrote baby gifts. I found it easier.

I ALWAYS write specific thank yous, I feel like the person spent the $ on your gift and took the time to come.. I hate getting generic thank you's.
