another pet peeve
What is it about being pregnant that makes other women feel the need to tell us in great detail how bad/horrible/long their own labor was?
do they not know that i'm already slightly nervous about it, and well aware of what can happen?
I don't want to hear it!!!!
Its 1/2 the reason i hate going to baby showers - all the women do is recount their own labor horror stories!

i had someone tell me in the bathroom the other day, totally unsolicited, that she had hemerroids the size of her fist  from 30w to the end!

100% TRUE...even total strangers. They then usually follow up with "I wish you a short and and easy labor"!

i actually dont mind hearing all the horror stories! i was at a bbq over the weekend and talking to someone about her labor story and i thanked her for telling me all the gory details lol. thats all the stuff i want to hear about so i can be prepared.

I don't mind hearing the stories. it's amazing how every one is different so you never know what your going to get.
It is what it is, it's all worth it at the end.

To add to this, no matter what I may mention out loud - I get an "oh wait til the baby comes"...
Today I got pooped on by seagull at the beach and posted it to Facebook and half the comments were about how I better get used to it because when the baby comes, I will be getting pooped on all of the time.
How about you just laugh at my expense like the people who saw it happen did????

LOL I don't mind the stories...I actually find them amusing. My husband, however, gets annoyed and feels like every time I am around someone that has kids that is all we talk about and it grosses him out.

Old timer here!!! I think everyone's experience is unique!! With Deb and Donna, I was only in labor for a few hours and had them before lunch!! With our Son, same thing, only faster and at night!!! The Dr. almost didn't get to the delivery room on time!!!! Not all labor experiences are what you hear about!!  Mary
