Urinary Tract Infection?
If you had a UTI while you were pregnant, what were your symptoms like?

My friends who have had UTIs while pregnant have actually had no symptoms. They didn't know they even had an infection until their check-ups when they had to pee in a cup. We're talking several women here, too! Which is weird (and I guess nice for them), because I've had three UTIs before getting pregnant, and the pain while urinating was so excruciating, I actually shed tears a few times. Then in between trips to the bathroom, it was a dull, constant ache in my lower abdomen.

My only symptom was when I wound up in the ER with vaginal bleeding. They think the bacteria irritated my cervix.

I was peeing constantly (even more than my usual) and it burned. I was peeing what looked like blood.
They gave me macobid, and it cleared it up in a few days.

I had no real symptoms except back pain. I even went for a massage, which worsened the pain when it usually makes it better. Turns out, upon dipping the stick, the doc told me I had a RAGING UTI. I was shocked. It caused contractions and shortened cervix . That's why it's so important to make sure it's not a uti, imo.

I have had a couple, one felt like normal UTI symptoms...burning...frequency....another felt like abdominal cramps with some burning and one i didnt even know i had, my routine urine came back with extra blood in it and they sent it for culture and was positive for UTI.

i kept on going to the bathroom at 4 wks and thought it was just being pregnant until the dr. tested the pee in a cup and said i had a UTI. the funny thing is i've had plenty of UTI's before but they hurt when i pee'd. this time around, it didn't hurt at all... but she put me on nitrofuran antibiotics which are supposedly safe to take during pregnancy.
