Cloth Diapering
Do any BTDT moms have any advice on how to get started? I'm due in late Oct but figured I should start looking into what we'll need.
TIA!

Re: Cloth Diapering
I have had a failed attempt at cloth diapering and plan on starting again when DD is a little older (she is currently 7 weeks). I suggest waiting until your LO is at least 1 month old before starting cloth, there is so much going on that first month and you dont know what size your LO will be so its better to wait. I'd also suggest getting a sample pack (Jillian's Drawers offers a 3 week trial) to see exactly what you like and its best to try things out on your own baby. There is a big difference between how a cloth diaper fits your own baby vs. a doll.

Re: Cloth Diapering
I don't know if you've done this yet, but I would X-post to Parenting. There are a number of cloth diapering mommies on there who have a lot of great info. Janice is one that comes to mind.

Re: Cloth Diapering
I am a btdt cloth diaperer - started the first week i had my son almost 2 years ago
this is what i started with - 24 infant prefolds - they were large at first and lastedus until he was 4-5 months - 4-6 covers - i like the thirsties covers- i had 3 small and 2 extra small - but the bummis extra brite are good too - both are double gussetted -2 snappi pins - 2 large wet/dry bags - could just get 2 wet bags - i ended up using the wet dry bags for daycare so they got lots of use - 24 wipes - i got a wipe warmer to put them in but any container would work fine
then i got a couple of diapers that were like disposable - i had two bum genuis one size and 2 thirasties all in ones sized (hated these) -i liked using the ones that looked like disposables at doctor vists- easier for doctor to check baby
i spent less than $200 on everything - i figured if i hated it the prefolds make good burp cloths, and the other stuff has a pretty good secondary market
as i got bigger i tried different diapers - diaperpin.com is agood review site and i just use purex free and clear to ewash them in - just use half the amount recommended (just don't use tide free and clear ) but most free and clears are fine - any questions just FM me

Re: Cloth Diapering
Thank you SO much for all your help!
How do I do an X-post in parenting to get some more opinions? I've never done that before.
Thanks!
