Re: JC Penney Furniture
we got DS bog boy furniture from JCP. It is solid wood, not composite. It is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! Its great quality, it has taken a beating from DS and there isnt a ding on it. I love it, and would buy furniture from them again in a heartbeat.

Re: JC Penney Furniture
Our nursery furniture is from JCP - love the quality so far! Our crib and dresser are from the Tori collection. The changing table is the Savannah collection I believe that I'll repurpose as a bookshelf when we're done using it as a changing table.
The only issue I have with the Tori crib is the front has a piece of solid wood on it. We can't put bedding on the crib because the bumpers won't tie (which is fine since I was debating using bumpers anyway). But we also can't put on that pad protector that protects the crib from the baby chewing on it.
My ILs got us the furniture 9 months ago when i found out I was PG, so there's nothing I could do about it now. But I wouldn't have chosen the Tori crib knowing that piece of solid wood would be an issue.

We got the Tori Crib, Changing tower and Dresser all in Espresso. I absolutely love the look and think the quality is excellent. I have no complaints. The furniture is definitely heavy, especially the changing tower! I'll be posting pics very soon of the nursery all finished once I put away some of her last few things so you'll be able to see the actual furniture set up! Image Attachment(s):

This is our exact set, except we have 2 of the cribs and 2 dressers. I LOVE it! I was nervous ordering online without seeing also, but it worked out better than expected. Just make sure you map out the room before with the dimensions of all the furniture. This has nothing to do with JCP, but I know many people order cribs thinking they are all around the same height/width, which is not true. One of the reasons we ordered this set was the height of the cribs was perfect for our horrible slopped cape ceilings.
Read the reviews too. You will not be dissapointed. Good luck!

Re: JC Penney Furniture
baby bargins doesn't rate the quality well. but I don't have it to really say.
IMO you use it for a short time, so it doesn't need to last 20 years. and the price is really good

I have the Tori crib, dresser and changing table also. We got it in espresso, its beautiful! All 3 pieces were under a grand. Its really great quality, sturdy furniture. I was worried I wouldn't like it, but we were not disappointed at all. The ship to store was free too, which saved us about $300!

Re: JC Penney Furniture
I'm not ready to think about furniture yet but I have browsed around online to look at prices so I know how much to expect to spend on the nursery.
I love PB but found a set in JCP that is almost the same. At first I wanted to splurge but the furniture only needs to last a few years and as long as it's safe I don't think it needs to be expensive. I've always wondered about JCP myself but have heard lots of good things so I may just save myself some cash and just use PB for the bedding.

I have this set and we love it! My DD doesn't sleep in her crib yet but we have gotten lots of use out of the changing table and dresser. The only thing that I would mention is that the drawers on the dresser are a bit shallower than I thought they would be, but still plenty of room
