Re: mom issue..
she sounds like my MIL lol. but just because she's buying you all these things on her accord, doesnt mean you have to use them. dont feel bad about still going out and getting your own stuff. you can still use hers on your own time, but you are the mom, she had her moment when you were born and now you deserve yours.

I agree, I had 2 people buy my daughters first Christmas dress, I was a little upset because I wanted to pick them out...so I returned them and bought something else. You go out there and buy what you want, you cant make everyone happy!

Re: mom issue..
I would suggest your mom keep these items at her house so when she watches the baby she has what she likes. That way you can have what you like and hopefully she will get the message. Good luck!

Re: mom issue..
I can see buying you a bunch of stuff for the baby but packing your hospital bag?!? Im sorry, but she has no business doing that, how does she know what you need and what you would like for that experience anyway? I would still pack my own hospital bag and if she insists, i guess you will have 2 hospitals bags....

I agree-you don't have to use any of it. She's not listening so it's not your fault that she's wasting money.

I would just say "I totally appreciate how excited you are and I definitely need your help...but I don't want to miss out on the experience of packing my diaper bag or hospital bag...this is my first child and I really want to experience every part of it. so maybe you can help me, but can we at least do it together?"

my mom bought onesies for every holiday for my shower and I thought "what a thoughtful idea but...i mean...now am i gonna be expected to have every holiday outfit for the first year and beyond of my first childs life planned out by somebody else? no way!"
