Washington DC help
We'll be in DC on a Friday night looking to just walk around the usual sites - the memorials, the Capitol, etc. and maybe eat in Dupont Circle.
Does anyone know the parking situation down there? We'll definitely have a car.
I found a few websites that have info on garages but I still wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone knows anything about on street parking or if it'll be hard to get space anywhere on the Friday night of Labor Day weekend.
TIA!

Re: Washington DC help
We were just there for memorial day weekend. We did find a spot both to park the car for the weekend and for breakfast. This was in dupont circle. We found the spot, but it wasn't easy...
We took the metro to the sites bc it is a far walk. How long are you going and where are you staying?

Thanks for the reply. I like the Dupont Circle area so that's good to know.
We are staying in suburban Virginia and just staying two nights. Most of the full day we have there will be spent at Nationals Park for both the tour and a night game v. the Mets because my DH is a baseball freak and likes to see every stadium (this one's somewhat new.)

Re: Washington DC help
We usually stay in northern VA as well. We keep the car @ the hotel & take the Metro into DC. Every hotel we've stayed at had a free shuttle to the nearest Metro station, so we just had to call them to pick us up when we returned.
We have parked in DC, but have never been lucky enough to find us a spot and always wound up in a garage.
