That's what I thought at first. But when my mom called her Genny I figured I prob. should pick something otherwise a nickname I dont like might stick.

I really like Gigi, especially bc her initials will be GGG. However, my niece is Gia and everyone already calls her Gigi. That's one of the downside of being the youngest of 5 siblings to having children. lol

The only Genevieve I know IRL goes by "Jenny" (yes, with a J).
If you think about it, how many Jennifers do you know who go by the full name? I only know 1. All the rest are Jen, Jenn or Jenny.

Honestly if you don't want people calling her a nick name, nicely say we are calling her Genevieve.
It will work. My sisters name is Cynthia, and when people would call her cindy or sin, my mom would correct them. Same with my DH he is Anthony and has never been called Tony, because my MIL corrected people that called him Tony.

i went to HS with a Genevieve and for the most part we called her by her full name; otherwise Gen for short.

In my opinion Nicknames should not be planned. They should naturally evolve. One of my dd's name is Amnada. I always thought I would call her Mandy. After she was born she was a Manda. Sometimes what you plan and what happens are two differnt things.

In my old age I have become enamoured with the nickname Jenny (or Genny or Gennie) I think its lovely and elegant.
I named my daughter because of the nickname, and it suits her to a tee! I do love the name Genevieve, and I love it pronounces Ghen-vee-eve. Good luck with your choice!

My niece is Genevieve and we call her Genevieve. Sometimes when texting I will write Gen or G, but in person only call her Genevieve.
