ferral cats
we have a neighbor who's feeding these stray cats and there are about 7-8 of them all over now. they defecate in the front and backyard, even jump on our roof! i'm scared to go out and then there's the concern re toxoplasmosis... should i tell my neighbor to stop feeding them? i feel so bad doing it but the cats are driving me nuts....

Re: ferral cats
don't be scared of them, chances are they're more scared of you. they won't attack you or anything. re: toxoplasmosis, just don't pick up the poop and you should be fine.
can't tell you what to do about your neighbor... i'm a cat person so i'm pretty biased.

I wouldn't be concerned either. Just make sure that you don't dig in your flowerbeds if they are using them as their bathroom.
We feed the stray cats in our neighborhood too and I have no worries.

Oh my gosh - do you live in my neighborhood?? I have the same problem and struggle with how to handle it. I feel bad for the cats, but at the same time, I'm so sick of seeing them in my front and back yards, in my rose garden, on my patio furniture, etc. I wish they would just adopt the cats and give them a true home. I have no advise, but I feel your pain.

Re: ferral cats
Stay away from them. God only knows what they are carrying. They can be vicious. We have a bad feral cat problem in my neighborhood. Try contacting Animal Control and see if they can trap them. My neighbor just had a pest control company trap some in her yard. They were nasty and she is old. She couldn't go out in her yard with out them trying to attack her..
