Has anyone mastered the art of preggo sunbathing?

Since I've been on bedrest, the highlight of my day is going outside for a little while to get me some Vitamin D. Last nightI caught a glimpse of the back of my leg compared to the front. Chat Icon It reminds me of Ross' spray tan incident on Friends!

Anyone have any tips for getting the whole back area?

This was my set-up....I stacked up the cushions from our patio chairs, and laid across with my belly hanging in between. DH laughed at me, but it worked!

When my friend was pregnant, she would dig a hole in the sand for her belly (at the beach of course)

Laying sideways with a rolled up towel under my belly. Then rotate. It is not perfect, but good enoughChat Icon

I can really only do 10-20 min each side total anyway.

Definitely true, I was out the other day for 20 minutes and it wasn't even hot where I was, and I got a slight burn, and I never burn. Be very careful!!

Be VERY careful! I have olive skin and started to get the "mask of pregnancy" my dermatologist said that if I tanned over that or any of my other discolorations, they could become permanent or last way after the baby came! Luckily, everything went back to normal shortly after DD was born.

That picture is great! LOL!

I don't want to get any dark patches from my horomones (especially on my face!) and I heard that a tan is bad for the belly skin during pregnancy (besides just being bad in general). Tanning damages the skin and I don't want to end up with even worse stretch marks and belly wrinkles after pregnancy because I was in the sun too much.

I'll be in a bikini all summer since I won't be showing yet but I'm going to use extra sunscreen on the belly and face just in case.

I try to do the other side n the pool with different floats. It's comical, but it works.

That's a good idea! Do you have a pool? Can you go in the pool if you are on bedrest? That might help you get some color on your backside.

I don't know. I was wondering the same thing. Chat Icon I'm afraid to ask because I've already asked the doctor so many ridiculous questions about allowable activities that he is going to lose all respect for me (if he hasn't already LOL).

Re: Has anyone mastered the art of preggo sunbathing?

I can't imagine not being aloud in a pool. In fact I think it's better then my bed bc there is no pressure on any part of my body. Granted I'm not on bed rest, just immensely frustrated with what I can't do while making these people grow inside of me.
I just keep telling myself that my little monkeys are worth it.
