XPOST - Pregnancy near the end for BTDT Moms....
How rough is it to get through a normal work day nevermind a long work day? This is why I am asking....
I am in public accounting and I have a job in which I am assigned to be on and starts to be our busy season beginning in another 2 weeks.
I am 21w this Thursday and feel great right now. Get somewhat tired at night but pretty much normal at the moment....
Here is my concern...by the time we really pick up I will be close to 28-30 weeks. Sometimes we are required to work 12-15 hour days (in other words get in at 8am and don't leave work til 10pm or sometimes as late as midnight). I am very worried for health of myself and baby with these types of hours....
Do you think its possible to work these types of hours for 2 weeks straight or am I going to die? haha. I do have concerns and will probably address them with my boss but was curious on your girls' opinons.

Are you able to get up and walk around? I was working 10 hour days near the end, trying to make up extra time and I was fine. I made sure I would get up and walk around - one time to the bathroom, to get a drink of water, to grab a bite to eat. . .I felt great at work! I wrked on my due date and ended up going 6 days late

i think for a limited time - you'll survive, especially if you are feeling great right now. But just listen to your body - if you feel that by the end of the first week you are too exhausted, you'll have to tell your boss that you can't pull 12 - 15 hour days. And honestly, you're PG, you shouldn't be expected to do that.

Its not a very physical job so you should be okay- just stretch and walk and take breaks like a previous poster said.
I am working 9 hour days, 3x a week and driving over an hour each way. Two days a week I am SAHM to a 3 and 4 year old- these days are much more strenuous and hard- my days in the office in the AC are MUCH easier- I am 37 weeks and working until 1 week before my section. I'm more worried about that last week I am home the whole time with my DCs!

I commuted into NYC up until 1 week before my due date, took subway to work too. I was working about 9 hours at the time. It was tough, but since I just kept trucking along, I think my body adjusted and was used to it. By the end of the day I was wiped out and my ankles were huge. It is tough but I found it manageable.
