Re: Spin on registry questions...what NOT to buy?
Oh yeah one more thing, I didn't register for mittens, but went back and bought them, he wore them all the time in the beginning and now if I have the AC pumping at night I put them on him, but his hands get really cold fast!

Guess I'm the only one who likes my wipe warmer
I loved my wipe warmer too. I found it didn't wake them up as much during the middle of the night changing.

This is why my friend is coming with me to register. She told me not to regsiter for a aterilizer (the dishwasher is enough), the wipe and food warmer, because they will get used to everything being warm, and when you are on the go or out, you cant have it with you, and also she told me the swaddle blankets were a waste. She said yoy cant use a regular blanket to swaddle them in??
She is offering to come with me next Tues. to finish my registry
so wait im confused???? dont you have to warm the bottles? or do you give the bottles cold? im so new at this and i just went thru all of my baby shower stuff and i thought i needed so much...THANKS FOR THIS POST!!

I use powder and room temp water to make her bottles. That way she is not used to getting a warm bottle

What about formula that might have been in the fridge (if it was opened earlier in the day?) Like Diane I am new at this and a little confused.
Great post!

Re: Spin on registry questions...what NOT to buy?
What a helpful post.....Thanks and keep them coming !!! I started registering online. I haven't been to the store. One of my friends whom is pregnant told me about the reviews posted. I thought they were very helpful and especially when pictures are posted with other mom using the product. (Thanks Kat for letting me know ) Keep the suggestions coming please !!

I registered for it. I guess I will decide down the line as I still have plenty of time. I also read some of the moms' reviews saying how they loved it especially for the reason so in love said.

We love our diaper champ...keeps the smell at bay and we don't have to run to the dumpster ( we are in a co-op) everyday....just change it once a week.

Re: Spin on registry questions...what NOT to buy?
I definitely loved my bottle warmer when Sal was younger...I have a 2 floor house so running up and down stairs a few times a night was not for me. It worked great! I couldn't make bottles on the spot because he had so many gas issues that I couldn't shake it before serving or he'd be up all night from the bubbles.

Re: Spin on registry questions...what NOT to buy?
I agree that its an individual thing. You can live without most of the recommended things-our parents did. Its a matter of convenience and of course what you can afford too. I don't have a diaper pail but depending on how you dispose of your garbage it may be necessary. I didn't really believe the wipe warmer and bottle warmer were necessary but we got them as presents and use them. Definitely could live without them but they are nice to have. The wipe warmer especially is pretty inexpensive so we figured why not. I think a lot of the bedding stuff is unnecessary. I returned the diaper stacker-didn't see the point. No need for pillows either.
