Jamaica vs Dominican Republic?
We are looking at going away in January for 6 days. We are looking at going to an all inclusive adults only resort.
We are looking at the Excellence Punta Canta in DR and the Ibeostar Grande in Montego Bay.
Anyone been to either of these resorts? I have heard bad things about both islands, and good as well. We just want to go away in the winter for not a ridiculous cost.
Any advice is appreciated. TIA

Usually the big difference between Jamaica and DR is the price. I loved Punta Cana, you can get great deals too. But if I could splurge I would pick Couples Swept Away in Negril...I'm so hoping to do this next year!

The beaches in Punta Cana are much nicer than Montego Bay.
We just had the same decision to make. We'd been to Montego Bay already but had never been to Punta Cana. The prices were similar. We went with Punta Cana and were so happy we did.
I haven't been to either resort you mentioned but I've heard wonderful things about both of them.

Agreed. The cost of DR is a little more than half the cost of Jamaica!

We loved EPC! The beach is not the same as most other Punta Cana resorts though, since it's on the Atlantic side of the island. If that's not a major factor for you, then the resort is great. We would recommend it.

I went to Negril Jamaica - NOT a fan. I went to Punta Cana, DR LOVE LOVED LOVED it. Can't wait to be able to go back.

I haven't been to either but Montego Bay is really nice.. DH and I stayed at Sandals Montego Bay and it was wonderful...loved every minute of it and I wish I can go back soon!
