BTDT ? for those that were induced
How many of you that had to be induced ended up having a c- section. Just curious about the stats. I am currently 41w 4d and if nothing happens by Friday I will go into the hospital Friday evening where they will start Cervadil. I will then be given Pitocin on Sat morning. Baby is doing great as am I but I was hoping to avoid a section. Of course whatever happens happens and whatever is best for the baby I totally want but I was just wondering what the odds were. TIA

Re: BTDT ? for those that were induced
With DS#1 I was induced endured 20 hours of labor then had a c-section. I knew it was a possiblity and was happy when they finally did it.
DS #1 was due 4/14/10 but was born 4/20/10.

Re: BTDT ? for those that were induced
I was induced and it was successful. I had a good experience.
I was given pitocin at 9 am. I didn't need cervidil since I was already effaced. I was in labor for 7 hours and gave birth vaginally at 4:08 pm. Pushing was super quick. I would say I pushed 4 or 5 times and that was it.
Are you dilated at all? From what I've heard inductions are usually more successful if you are already dilated before the induction. I was 2 cm before I was induced. My labor progressed very quickly as you read above. At one point I went from 6-10 cm in a matter of minutes!!!!!!!
Good luck!!! I've been thinking about you!

Thanks everyone!!!
I hope this is the case for me! I am dilated 1 cm and I am 80% effaced.

Re: BTDT ? for those that were induced
I was induced at 40+ weeks. After 12 hours of no progress with cervadil, I had a c-section. DD was still so high up my dr had to push on my stomach to mover her down. Good luck!

I didn't include in my original repsonse...but it was similar for me. I was not effaced at all and barely at 1cm when they induced with cervadil and a foley catheter. They got me to 4cm but Ds#1 was still high and doc couldn't break my water. That's when a c/s was decided on.

Do they always use a foley cath?

Re: BTDT ? for those that were induced
I was induced, in labor for 18 hours and pushed for an hour and a half before my c-section. It was very frustrating to go through all of that and end up with the c-section but I'm 5'3" and had a 9 lb 22 inch baby so I don't see how it could have turned out differently. I am trying for a VBAC this time and know we could have the same results but we"ll see.
GOOD LUCK to you!
