Those PG with #2 or more
Will you be taking any classes this time around? Last time I took childbirth ed, breastfeeding, CPR, and hospital tour. This time I'm thinking about taking a refresher childbirth class and a refresher CPR. What's everyone else planning to take/not take?

I didn't take anything. In all honesty, I don't think you need a refresher childbirth course. I don't think a CPR class could hurt though. I keep meaning to do this again.
They do have sibling classes I think if you think your child would be into it.

Took a child birth class and wound up having a crash c-section. Might take a CPR class. DH and I regreted not taking one.

Re: Those PG with #2 or more
I had nothing w/Emmy due to strict bedrest and I plan to do nothing this time. I have the general idea of what is happening and have done it already so i'm set. Part of my bf issues were I was doing all the LLL holds, and met with the LC and she just wouldn't latch the "right" way. When I did it my way she latched and we did great.

I think I will take a CPR course. I don't need the childbirth one since I will most likely be a repeat C, and I BF DS for a year so I don't think I need a refresher course on that.

The refresher CPR one is a good idea, other than that, nah-I'm not taking them again.

What is it like? Kieran will only be 22 months when the baby is born, so I'm afraid he wouldn't get anything out of it, that it might be a little over his head, KWIM?

Re: Those PG with #2 or more
Took the required childbirth/baby care class last time, even though I knew I was likely having a c-section....won't take that again.
I would like to take a CPR class, and I might do the hospital tour again if it's offered seperately, just because it's been 4 years and somethings could have changed...

Nope, not birthing, honestly, after actually giving birth last time, I remember thinking "well that lamaze class was a waste of time" LOL.
I will however take a refresher CPR/First Aid course.

Re: Those PG with #2 or more
I took pretty much all of those classes with DS and with this one I don't plan on taking any. DS and this DC are going to be so close in age that I don't feel that I need any refreshers. If they were furthur apart I would prpbably consider it.

I didn't take any clases last time and none this time.
I would like to take a CPR class at some point but it wasn't offered at Stony Brook last time with the exception of NICU parents.

I would like to take a CPR course.
I took childbirth last time and jokingly asked when DH wanted to schedule it this time- he almost had a heart attack. He HATED every minute of it.

Re: Those PG with #2 or more
I will probably try to take a refresher CPR class. I thought the one I took while pregnant with DD was totally worth it. I never took a childbirth class when pregnant with DD and wont this time either, I am having another c section. I did take a babycare class and a breastfeeding class last time but wont be doing it again.

Re: Those PG with #2 or more
I watched the Laugh and Learn DVD on childbirth and child care and I did find them helpful. Ended up with an emergency c-section, so the childbirth class wasn't that helpful. I also did the free class at the hospital on childcare after DS was born. I do wish I had done CPR and I probably should do it now.

Re: Those PG with #2 or more
I'm thinking about taking a BF class. I had a horrible time with DD. She wouldn't latch so I pumped for a month and after double mastitis that almost put me in the hospital I swore it off for future babies. But I feel guilty- already! I can BF maybe I just needed better techniques.
