Clothes for work
What types of dresses, or outfits should buy? I need loose fitting stuff not necessarily maternity yet.
I don't want to spend a lot on clothes. Do you have any recommendations?
If you have any pics please share!
Thanks!

Re: Clothes for work
I bought lots of dresses and some skirts (with elastic waists). And lots of long, flowy tops. I've been able to wear all of my pre-pregnancy work pants, though that's not going to last much longer (I'm 16 weeks now). Good thing about the long tops was I was I have been able to keep wearing my pants even though they're sort of tight and don't look so great. You can also get a belly band or do the rubber band trick for when you pants start to get snug.
I bought most of my clothes on sale at Kohls and a few things at Target.

Re: Clothes for work
I got most of my work clothes at Destination Maternity but definitley invest in the belly band. I didn't have to start wearing maternity clothes until 20 weeks because of that thing. It was great!

Re: Clothes for work
I just bought simple khakis and black pants from Kohls....they were on clearance for 8.80 and I had a 20% off coupon! They had some cute things there. I am just not a floral person and there are so many floral things in all the maternity section...that and ruffles.

Re: Clothes for work
I made a mistake when I bought clothes for work in the beginning. I bought lots of loose, flowy tops that hid my belly. Great for weeks 8 - 15 or so. After that, when I had a real, un-hideable belly bump, wearing a big flowy top was just so unflattering. It felt like I was wearing a tent; just dumpy-looking instead of pregnant. After you get a real belly, you'll want to flaunt it with tighter tops or tops that cinch below the chest. I never thought I would WANT to flaunt my big belly, but believe me, once there's no hiding it, you want people to know it's a baby bump and not just you looking dumpy in clothes that don't fit.
Problem was, I bought so many of these tops, it was hard to justify going out and buying a new wardrobe AGAIN, 2 months later. But whatever, I did. Anyway, my advice would be to get a few tops like this, and find looser tops you already own that you can pair with a cute light cardigan or jacket to hide your belly till you're ready to show it off.
