know anything about queens/nyc traffic court
I got a cell phone ticket a while back (before they started giving points for it). My blue tooth needed to be charged so I used my phone on my ear while stopped at a long intersection. I hung up when the light turned green. Then, I got pulled over.
At first I pleaded not guilty. The court date would be next week. Anyone have any opinions as to whether it's worth it for me to try to fight it? If I lose, will I owe more than the original cost of the ticket? I can change my plea and pay the ticket, but if there's a chance I could win, it would be a huge deal not to have to pay that ticket.
BTW, I've only use my bluetooth in my car from that point on. Always better safe than sorry!

as a former prosecutor i can tell you that you will never have to pay more than what you would have if you pleaded guilty. always worth it to fight imo. there were only 2 types of tickets we didn't plea for any reason... school bus and handicapped parking.
