Coffee/Tea
As I have already been up for almost 2 hours-- this is a very pertinent topic!
I believe from my last pregnancy, my doc allowed one small cup of caffeinated coffee/tea a day.
Before my BFP, I'd have 3 of the small cups on my Keurig (DD is an early riser), so probably the equivalent of a med from D&D or Starbucks.
Anyway-- I have been doing one cup reg, and one cup decaf just cause I feel like I need it. Last pregnancy, I think I drank green tea which I know is better-- so, I should prob get some for the house.
What did everyone's doc say about this?

Re: Coffee/Tea
I honestly thought green tea had more caffeine than both coffee and regular tea? I could be wrong.
My doc says one small cup of coffee/tea per day, that's it. Hope this helps!!

Re: Coffee/Tea
my doctor said a regular cup in the morning and even a small cup additional in the afternoon is fine, if I really need it. i never have more than one serving a day though.

Re: Coffee/Tea
I haven't been having my normal morning coffee, but that's only because I had an aversion to milk for so many weeks. My doc told me no caffeine in the beginning and I told him I couldn't go with at least 1 cup of coffee a day, which is what I've stuck too.
I also think that tea has more caffeine then coffee.

Re: Coffee/Tea
I LOVE coffe and would easily have 3 cups a day prior to BFP.
Since becoming preggies I have found that I have a slight aversion to strong coffee to I actually have my iced coffee 1/2 milk and 1/2 coffee....maybe you can increase the milk to ensure you stay within the recommended range.
My OB was totally fine with coffee, she said a cup or two a day (when necessary) was fine.

Re: Coffee/Tea
My doc said no caffeine, but science would beg to differ so I drink it anyway - under 200mg a day. Some days I teach Spin classes at 5am, there was no way I was going without it!
Tea definitely has less caffeine than coffee. You can actually lower the caffiene in tea by double brewing the tea bag. Put in the water for a minute, dump that water and put new water in. Should taste the same but a lot less caffiene - at least that's what I read :)
