team green girls
Couple of questions...
Ru buying two outfits, boy and a girl, or gender neutral, for bringing dc home?
Ru painting a gender neutral nursery, or waiting to decorate?
I'm def going to wait on the nursery....baby sleeps in my room for the first 3 months. So we can put the room together then. Not sure about outfit.

Re: team green girls
I am buying two outfits and then my mom will wash whichever one we will need once the baby is born.
We are painting the nursery a green color and then I have two beddings picked out that I will buy once the baby is born. The baby will be staying with us as well the first few months so I can get the rest of the stuff for the nursery after the baby is born.

Re: team green girls
I am buying 2 outfits. I am also having DH do wainscotting in the nursery and am putting a cream color carpet down. I am painting the top half a pale blue. I know I'll probably have another boy but if I have a girl, I want to have a print with pink and blue. Like last time, I'll buy girl and boy stuff for the nursery and have my dad do a lot of returns while I'm in the hospital.

Re: team green girls
Our nursery is already painted a Mint Green color, which I feel is neutral enough. Haven't really thought about the outfit yet. I will probably get something gender neutral as well, to make things easier!

Re: team green girls
Kohl's is having a 50% off sale on baby clothes, so I actually bought an entire 0-3 month wardrobe for both genders (and will return whichever we don't need). But I think our take home outfit is gender neutral...unless I change my mind again.
The nursery is painted a neutral beige color, but we're waiting for the baby to be born to decorate it since we have completely different boy and girl themes we want.

I did gender neutral for both. It was just easier for us that way.

Re: team green girls
I bought a gender neutral outfit, but I bought a flower to attach to the hat if baby is a girl.
For the nursery, we painted it green, and I picked out gender specific bedding and accessories that we will add once the baby is born.

Re: team green girls
I'm buying 2 outfits and returning one. Or should I say my mother is. She was EXTREMELY vocal about being team green so that was the deal we made.
The nursery is being painted a light gray for now. When the baby is born and I'm still in the hospital, we are having a designer come in and finish the decor...nautical for boy (navy and white to go with the gray) or cherry blossoms for a girl (pinks and white to go with the gray). It's annoying to plan like that but I didn't want anything gender neutral.

Re: team green girls
my plan was to buy 2 outfits and do the nursery neutral. since came early and we hadn't done either, now im looking for a going home outfit for when shes out of the NICU and we stuck with the original plan for the nursery but with more girly accessories and touches.

Re: team green girls
Everyone was neutral for us -- and whether we were team green or not, we would have gone neutral.
My mom wound up buying an outfit for the baby to come home in from the hospital. Honestly, it's one of those things that I think we all make a big deal about before we have the baby, and then afterwards you don't really care. You just want to bring your LO home and be OUT of the hospital.

Re: team green girls
I got both a boy and a girl outfit with my first dc. I just returned the other outfit at some point. I will do the same this time.
We will wait on painting the nursery until he or she arrives. LO will stay in our room for the first few months anyway.

Re: team green girls
we'll be using a gender neutral outfit to bring baby home in.
We didn't find out the sex with #1, so the nursery is painted a sage green. We will be putting #2 right in that room.

Re: team green girls
with DS I did a layette at Denny's and we picked out two sets of stuff. When DS was born my IL's picked up the boys box.
For this one I took out a bunch of DS's newborn stuff and I also bought some girl stuff recently. It's still in the bag with the receit incase I have to return.
Also, took out some neutral stuff
We did DS's room neutral, but this time we'll do the nursery after the baby is born. He/she will stay in our room in the bassinet till the room is ready and shouldn't take too long

My mom is going to buy the outfit once the baby is born and bring it to the hospital
With DD#1 I didnt find any nuetral bedding I liked. The best thing we ever did was wait until she was born to decorate. I love her girly girl room.

Re: team green girls
Re: outfit for my first I bought a light brown "Bear suit" (it was end/Oct) and the one piece was white I think so it was pretty gender neutral. I got clothing gifts in the hospital once DS was born so I guess I could have used those (But they just weren't washed yet). I don't see the big deal, its not like ppl really saw him that day. we just went rt home.
This time around I might just bring one of DS's neutral one peice (footed pj type thing) Again I 'm not too conerned, I will bring an ivory blanket as well.
For the nursery: Will decorate after DC is here already picked out what bedding/set I want to do for each gender.

Re: team green girls
Girls that returned the extra outfit, did you wash it beforehand - is this something that DH (or whoever else) washed while you were in the hospital than brought it over?
