Cant shake comment from Dr.
So I get a sono. Sono tech says nothing. Now Im in another office waiting for dr to tell me how sono looked. She comes in and says..."well your babys got a big head". She kinda chuckles. Then I say..."what do you mean? Is everything ok?" She shrugs it off and says Im sure its just the angle of the sono...the sono tech is always concerned about everything" and totally dismisses it. Would you be bothered? Im thinking now there is something wrong...

Re: Cant shake comment from Dr.
I honestly think that if something were wrong the doctor would have discussed it further with you. I know it's hard not to worry - I read into EVERYTHING, so i would probably feel the same as you at first - but the doctor would be clear if there were something to worry about it.
Maybe she was just making reference to that fact that it's a little rough delivering a baby with a big head, haha :)

Re: Cant shake comment from Dr.
That would bother me a lot! I am sure everything is fine but the doc's approach was very insensitive and unprofessional to comment on the tech's concerns. Why;'d she even comment on it if it was no concern, just say everything looks good, kwim?
There is another thread here on people switching drs mid way in pregnancy- if there are other concerns with your doc maybe consider it. good luck

Oh I have concidered it, but out of sheer laziness I just keep going there. I am now due in 5 weeks and just feel like its too late. Listen to this one...same dr...Im on the table, exam is done, getting ready to sit up and she says..."so how do you know so and so?" I say..."through work...how do you know I know her?" Im all perplexed. She says..."I saw you were friends with her on facebook, we were friends in HS". Really? Im half naked on the table and your talking to me about facebook? I thought that was just unprofessional...but now when you comment about my child having a LARGE head Im upset. I know I read into everything, Im just hoping its nothing.

re facebook
When do you go back again for a sono? MAybe it really was the angle of the sono - wouldn't they notice sooner if the head was looking to be on the larger side? I think everything is going to be fine - she sounds like she is lacking 'bedside manner.'

No I wouldnt be bothered, I used to joke with the techs about both DS's big heads! But my family all has big heads so to me it was nothing new.
I wouldnt worry about it honestly!

Re: Cant shake comment from Dr.
If the doctor was concerned, they would've sent you to a specialist to follow-up. That's what happened to us when the sono tech saw a white spot on DD's heart during our anatomy scan. I'm sure everything is fine. Sorry you're not loving your doctor. I'm sure they'll do fine by you with the delivery. It's odd they're cyber-stalking you, though.

Seems like everything is fine or the dr would discuss things with you further. Sounds like it was just a really dumb thing to say and a silly way to say it.
